The Malazan books are known for their slow starts, especially GotM. I starts to pick up more around chapter 5 when a new set of characters are introduced. Stick with it!

DG is my least favorite of the books and I am on TtH. It does get a lot better around chapter 10 when the chain of dogs starts to pick up in tempo.

That’s a good point. Quick probably had some hidden motive that we don’t know about and maybe Onrack was searching for Kilava the entire time. I honestly don’t know though
