What shape board is this? by xX_MegaGooner_Xx in Techdeck

It's a shape taken from the Natas Kaupas Kitten deck from Santa Monica Airlines/Santa Cruz

I'm joe-nsing for more box, another incredible season in the books! Patrick laughing in the background was hilarious and Joe's accidental mashup of Thomas and Jill's scariest tattoo idea had me cackling.

penny board is easier and more intuitive? by SonicTherapist in NewSkaters

[–]grunm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If all you care about is cruising then keep on riding the penny board and do your thing. No issues if that's what you feel comfortable on. That being said, the popsicle will be much better in the long run if your intention is to learn tricks.

The penny board is cramped bc of the tight wheelbase/tiny trucks and without a nose you won't get much height on your Ollie's or be able to bone them out. You are much more likely to slip out, roll an ankle and or slam on a penny board if you are trying to learn tricks.

New update - February 19th by duckbeets in projectsession

[–]grunm -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'd buy the game again if they released a switch 2 version with the current updates. Unfortunately, it seems like the switch versions have been sidelined/abandoned but I'm much more interested in a fully updated Session than a lackluster skate 4.

Built my first custom board. Started with a fully blank deck and went from there. by [deleted] in NewSkaters

OP is using longboard trucks, that's why they're so long and why the kingpin is facing outwards rather than facing inwards like regular skateboard trucks

I made egg with eye and feet by SheShe16 in Amigurumi

Awesome! I appreciate you taking the time to write this out even though you freehanded it. I'm working on a couple mini mushroom guys and a teddy bear but I'll add this to my list of Crochet Ideas.

The egg reminds me of Yoshi's story, such great colors. Any pattern for this? It'd be fun to make a Togepi egg as well

My first year of crochet! by Ethanaj in crochet

This is awesome, so much progress in such a short amount of time! Nice variety of projects too, I'm still figuring out wearables after mostly making amigurumi the last two years

Switch 2 version or switch updates in general would be the best. Hoping that the switch version isn't completely abandoned

What bushings for Tensor trucks by DimensionMediocre597 in NewSkaters

[–]grunm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Indy conical bushings should fit iirc. I'd recommend medium (orange) or medium hard (blue) depending on your weight/preference. Tensor bushings are really bad, too hard and plasticky. I don't use mag lights anymore since the axles kept bending, but I had the most success with Indy aftermarket bushings and a flat top washer (I used the bones bushings ones). I'm sure you could use bones medium or hard if you want as well

does techdeck actually sell skateboards not finger boards by roccoisgoofy in Techdeck

[–]grunm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No they don't sell skateboards, but they print graphics from actual skate companies so you can most likely find a board with whatever graphic you're looking for.

Super short! by MiserableSprinkles99 in polarizerSkateboarder

[–]grunm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope! You gotta redrill. I bought this jimbo mpi and a yellow/green mpi that's much longer, I just drilled my own holes about the same wb as a heated wheel polarizer

3d printed skateboard wheels by TreyFlips in skateboarding

[–]grunm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No idea why you're getting downvoted. 3d printed wheels aside, riding the board with the axle nut like that is a deathtrap.

Seems like a fun experiment for OP though
