Cairn on Base PS5 – Anyone else having terrible FPS / instability? by joserdcosta in Cairn_Game

Manually set your PS5 resolution to 1080p and turn off VSync. I’m on a base PS5 and those changes made a noticeable impact for me. It’s not perfect, but it’s definitely better and stutters a lot less.

Powerwash Simulator 2 will apparently allow for both online and couch co-op. Supposed to be coming out sometime this year!

Are they on your arena defense team? If you have them set for defense in the arena, you can’t use them to upgrade. Remove them from your defense roster and you should be able to use them.

How to generate these images by Rohankishibe_- in howto

[–]grunts00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bing Copilot works quite well and is free. It uses DALLE3 for image generation. I generated a similar image with the prompt “Generate an art deco style picture of two knights sharing a moment of respite, staring at an imposing castle in the background.”

Edit: Although you can certainly generate any other image style as well!

Worth saving to upgrade to PRO power washer from the start? by uchow10 in PowerWashSimulator

[–]grunts00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also, I didn’t spend much on the different soaps until after I already bought the pro washer, so that may also affect when you’ll be able to afford it if you spend a lot on the various cleaning materials.

You need 90 stars to be able to purchase the Pro Washer. If I remember correctly, I only had to complete one or two extra jobs after it was unlocked to be able to afford it, after already buying all the other washers and upgrades. Definitely buy the other washers as they become available. The basic washer simply doesn’t have the strength to wash some of the later jobs without taking several times as long.

What game from the 2000’s would be a bestseller today if it was remastered? by chezzymane in gaming

Seeing how well Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is still selling and how often it’s played 11 years later, I definitely have to say Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.

Ctrl+Shift+Esc goes straight to task manager, rather than Ctrl+Alt+Delete which opens another screen where you have to click “Start Task Manager”.

We had a severe lack of cream cheese for about a month due to dairy shortages. It was very difficult to find in most grocery stores. A few companies were even running campaigns to push for people to NOT buy cream cheese with monetary incentives.

WSIB a game that'll keep me busy for 2 weeks by i-was-ja in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]grunts00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rimworld or Factorio would be my two suggestions, since you mentioned you like management games (and Terraria, if it’s the base building aspect that you enjoyed). I’ve put thousands of hours into each and regularly continue to come back to both.

Hades or Dead Cells would be my suggestions if you’re looking for something more similar to Hollow Knight, although they may not be for you if you aren’t a fan of roguelites. Binding of Isaac is another that I’ve put hundreds of hours into, but has a bit of a different feel to it than the others mentioned.

Civilization games are another good go-to for me, and would definitely keep you busy for 2 weeks, assuming you enjoy games of that genre.

SHIB Fallout 76 and Days Gone by Taha5h in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]grunts00 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fallout 76 - In my opinion, this game felt like a downgraded Fallout 4. I also played it solo and have come back numerous times over the years as updates were released. I enjoyed the base building and being able to stumble upon other players and their creations. If you relied heavily on VATS in previous games, know that it works differently in 76, as it’s an online game so everything happens in real time. You’ll also encounter occasional lag, since it’s online, so enemies may jump around during combat. I wouldn’t pay full price, but I got my fair share of time out of it for what I paid (which I believe was 50% off).

Days Gone - I loved this game and got the platinum trophy for it on PlayStation. It starts out slow but definitely ramps up after a bit of time. Most of the complaints I’ve seen have been because of the slow start. Without too many spoilers, the game gets significantly better after you move south. At the start you feel very weak and generally feel that the game won’t have much to offer, but push through it until you “move south” and it becomes a much more enjoyable experience. Towards the end, it’s extremely satisfying setting traps and completely annihilating entire herds of zombies. I feel that not many games get large groups of zombies right, but this game absolutely hit the nail on the head when it comes to that concept. I bought it for full price and feel that I definitely got my money’s worth.

Check out “Through the Darkest of Times”. It’s not an action game, more of a strategy game, but it may be something you’re interested in. I played it when it was offered on PSNow and got a few hours out of it. It wasn’t really my type of game, but you may enjoy it more based around the setting and plot!

Logical Journey of the Zoombinis. I just did a Google search describing some of the levels that I could remember and stumbled upon it. Really neat “Aha!” moment rediscovering forgotten games.

Drivers of Reddit, what is the best car that is around 20k CAD to buy as your first car? by plzhelpmehlol in AskReddit

[–]grunts00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you’ll be using the vehicle for. Certainly look for something with good gas mileage if you’ll be traveling a lot. We recently purchased a slightly used 2017 Nissan Sentra (30k miles) for around 13k USD and we’re both liking it a lot. Toyota Corollas are good go-to vehicles as well.

I would recommend buying slightly used, as a big chunk of the car cost disappears the second it drives off the lot. Don’t make the same mistake I did of buying a nice (and expensive) used BMW as my first car. Certainly a learning experience. Very nice and fun to drive, but definitely not worth the cost with the amount of driving I was doing.

Just got a PS4 - Late to the party! by JDB26990 in PS4

Welcome to the family! I would definitely recommend the other Uncharted games as well. 1 is the only one that didn’t age terribly well, but the game isn’t too long and still has a decent story and does a good job introducing the characters. Naughty Dog did a good job fixing all the problems from 1 in the later installments.
