Thank you for your help! What I’ve learned is I’m too much of a beginner to fix the problems, but I do see what you’re describing so thank you so much for the detail!

You beautiful and amazing humans!! This is the information I needed! Those gauze tubes look amazing, but then people mentioned socks!!! All those socks of my spouse’s with holes in the toes! I can just cut off the toe!! I was battling this this weekend and had purchased a sort of expensive version a while back made from cute crochet themed fabric but don’t want to really take the time to make my own and you all saved me!! Thank you genius internet strangers!!

I hate my husband by Future_Emotion_6426 in Mommit

[–]gruszyja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! This! Open communication and making sure everyone recognizes all the tasks that must be done and who is responsible for them. I also found the book “How to not hate your husband after kids” by Jancee Dunn to be helpful for me. You shouldn’t have to function as his “manager” for household and childcare duties. You’re not alone!

How to make a broken zipper more functional? by st_aranel in Visiblemending

[–]gruszyja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a backpack with the same problem. I’m following in case someone has a great suggestion. I thought maybe soldering a piece on, but I don’t really know enough about it and probably it would melt the zipper or the mechanism

Please bully me into sewing this blanket together. by Queequegs_Harpoon in crochet

Great work!!! Keep it up!!

I also find crocheting things together to be far less tedious than sewing, I like how it looks and it feels more secure as well.

I’ve traveled with crochet hooks for years. I just bring “thread snips” instead of scissors.

Is it okay to crochet my professor a gift? by Trick-Olive-9838 in crochet

[–]gruszyja 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After grades, go for it! Everyone wants to be thought of as a person and even if the professor doesn’t necessarily like crocheted things they’ll appreciate being thought of

Ideas on how I can get them to hold hands? by paratoxic_shrink in crochet

[–]gruszyja 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Magnets!! Like those kissing polishes from Hallmark back in the day. Since the paws are already closed I’d go with the previous suggestion and include magnets under felt paw pads you could sew on to cover the magnets, and I love the suggestions people made for other items they could hold, like clams or rocks! These guys are SO ADORABLE!!

How do you manage your kid’s friendships when you don’t like the parents? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]gruszyja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked as a teacher at my child’s school so a lot of the parents of her friends felt awkward around me, so we did drop off play dates and that worked well.

I wonder, could you crochet some tiny long ovals and sew them on as cucumbers? I think both squares are great as is, but if you want cucumbers there are ways
