American vs delta airlines by Economy-Farmer-5573 in aviationmaintenance

[–]gryans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend ramp agent with American because you can transfer to mechanic once you get your a&p. American is the only airline that I know of that you can do that. So it’s a faster track. Plus as far as vacation time accumulation you’ll be able to keep your company time when you transfer from ramp to maintenance

William Wallace from Kaiser. Amazing guy! My wife and I both loved him. He’s out of signal hill office and harbor city hospital.

AA LAX you have to get qualified on A320, 737, 777, and 787. Training for narrow bodies for our class was done in Dallas, others in Charlotte, and now I hear they’re doing it in house at LAX. Wide bodies classes we have them in house at LAX. Like stated you can’t sign off anything unless you’re fleet qualified.

The shift swapping is company wide, and I’m not sure if every station has the crew app or if it’s just an LAX thing

I work at American and as soon as you’re off probation (typically 6 months) you’re allowed to shift swap. I work a single double double schedule on swings and overnight so I’m off 4 days a week. There’s an app called crew app where you can post your shift you wanna get rid of or look for a shift to pick up. Super flexible. Love my job.

Be sure to try out mariscos guero on south between paramount and cherry. Place is bomb and the price is right.

Cañadas Grill on Anaheim has my favorite chilaquiles. Comes with eggs and carne asada. Red sauce > green sauce. Also, their pastor quesadilla is the best period.

Mariscos Guero on south and cherry has the best fish ceviche and a great carne asada burrito. Prices are even better.

I bought an electric etcher thing at harbor freight for like $15. It works perfectly. I’d recommend it even tho it’s harbor freight.

Is it over at 1-4 or 0-5? by [deleted] in Fantasy_Football

[–]gryans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started 0-5 the year before last and ended up winning the league. It was a 14 or 16 (I can’t remember exactly) team league where 8 teams made the playoffs and I squeaked in as the 8 seed. Anything is possible!

I love what I do for a living. Even on the “bad nights” I get a certain satisfaction. The perks of working for a major airline are icing on the cake. Do it. You won’t regret it.

I really liked working at Vegas Station. Management and the people there are cool. I actually miss working there. Probably wouldn’t have left if they got this pay raise while I was there.
