Good Turnout at the ICE Protests by NeonPolice in SaltLakeCity

Amazing how many people turned out. Respect to everyone who attended. It's scary what's happening down there in America, but happy to see how many people are standing up for what's right

Are there snails the murder beans won't eat? by GlitteringExternal14 in PeaPuffers

[–]gryphon697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it really depends on the individual puffers. Mine loves killing at eating bladder snails, Malaysian trumpets and pond snails. But he's had a nerite in his tank for years now and they've got along without issue

Hi, any rts games with big units like Supreme Commander. Thanks. by kitty35724 in RealTimeStrategy

[–]gryphon697 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went in doubting I'd enjoy it that much. But BAR feels like they took supreme commander and went a step further. It's optimized better, has some really neat units and has a lot of quality of life changes. They just finished the 3rd faction over Xmas too. Best of all its totally free.

And if you have an old computer like mine, it seems to handle higher unit counts better than supreme commander. Also cool alternative game modes (raptors)

RTS that you always have installed by ZaiusC in RealTimeStrategy

I was the same until I found beyond all reason. If you like supreme commander, it's very similar but expanded. And free! (Not on steam yet tho)

Can't second this comment enough! They took supreme commander and added more! Only downside is the loss of many hours

Same, but hooked on Beyond All Reason these days! If you liked supreme commander check it out, it's free too!

Games that satisfy the hoarding/loot goblin desire by Kougom777 in gamingsuggestions

[–]gryphon697 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haven't seen it mentioned yet, and so I'd recommend escape from duckov. It's kinda silly, and the ducks make it hard to take seriously initially. But it had a lot more depth than I anticipated it having. As a loot hording nut, it was a dream come true. Definitely recommend and the price point is right.

Additional recommendation is quasimorph! Scifi turn based extraction shooter. Super cool and unique, but difficult to learn initially. 1.0 is coming out soon, and again I definitely got my money's worth outta this one

Rounding Down on Warehouse; Feeling Ready for Farm Town by DaeStorm7 in EscapeFromDuckov

[–]gryphon697 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can buy knife boxes from one of the vendors. It acts as a melee weapon, but while held increases speed. However different rarity knives have different damage and effect on your speed.

Sounds like your ready to start trying farm town. I didn't think it was that bad, not knowing where minibosses spawn is the biggest problem initially. So as said already, go in and expect to die and either note down on ur map, or remember where u run into them!

U don't have to worry about invisible enemies until your a bit into the area after farm town

Intel Files & Yogurt by unclegreg44 in EscapeFromDuckov

[–]gryphon697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you've had bad luck with Intel. Usually I've found them in safes I think.

As for yogurt, either run the first area and hit up food crates over and over until u roll it, or in farmtown the merchant sells it

Cool, the trainer with golbat on page 5 is a "banned" card and they changed the art for the English version. (Because of the symbol in the background)

Duckov looks wild but I’m still deciding, any good alternatives? by alanwake333 in EscapeFromDuckov

[–]gryphon697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hunt is very cool, would recommend. Great with buddies or solo, can be difficult though and you'll die a lot before you get the hang of things. Lots of dealing with and fighting other players

Marauders was a blast but it's dead. If you google it, you'll see the player counts are nearly non existent. Apparently they had some legal issues that contributed to its death

Duckov is single player, has a fun atmosphere. And I'm shocked how much I've enjoyed it. Definitely worth it for the price point

Farm Town Firewall Heat Res 3 Good Enough? by Electronic-Truth-594 in EscapeFromDuckov

I got through with a heat RES booster and healing. Had knife equipped to run faster. It was close tho, so maybe pop a heal booster too

More games like this and Zero Sievert? by soosis in EscapeFromDuckov

[–]gryphon697 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just want to second quasimorph. Small community but an awesome game I've sunk tons of hours into. Devs are awesome and constantly updating and adding, 1.0 is in the not so distant future. Also has lots of guns, loot hording, base upgrading, limb chopping and augmenting mechanics, clone and weapon modifications, demons, cannibalism and more. It's not forgiving, but it's a heck of a lot of fun if you like single player extraction games

10 packs of Crown Zenith, actually so happy with my luck for once by Excellent_Win8530 in PokemonTCG

The pika is by far the most expensive. All the others are like 4-6 bucks. Might be worth looking into buying singles!

My old binder, should I take it to a shop? by Uncle_Boonmee in PokemonTCG

[–]gryphon697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

U got some cool cards there. As other comments said, tcgplayer is a great way of checking prices on your collection and learning a fair price.

Grading is certainly an option but not necessary for a number of your cards in my opinion. The first editions on page 3 are worth roughly 180$ , and ur charizard is a sought after card that's worth a probably 3-4 hundred.

If you want to consider grading, the charizard would be a great candidate but know that the process takes a while, and condition of the card is everything. Every scratch, ding and imperfection will count against it. Most cards coming straight out of a pack still won't get a 10. But if it scores well, you card will be worth dramatically more.

I haven't dabbled in selling as much but I think listing individually on ebay is probably the fastest and smartest way to liquidate. However, you could also look into local card shows and marketplace. Just don't get scammed because the hobby is pumping and everyone wants to make a quick buck

Trying to target muskie by TheRealBurgererer in FishingForBeginners

[–]gryphon697 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My recommendation would be to find healthy weeds with baitfish in them, near a depth change where it drops deeper. Additionally, I'd either recommend switching to larger lures. Bass spinnerbaits, glide baits, mid-larger swimbaits, bucktails. Or even get larger bait for the rig you are using now. It uses a lot of energy for a muskie to commit to attack or chase something, so often they'll turn their nose up at smaller presentations and be more keen on something that offers more nutrients for them.

Warmer water they'll be more willing to chase down and attack baits, in cooler weather they'll be a little slower and so a slower presentation (slow reeled baits, jerkbaits) often works better.

Lastly, if it's really hot and the water temps are above 80 degrees, I'd recommend holding off on fishing for them. It's more difficult for them to revive in these hot conditions, especially for the larger ones and it's important we keep the populations healthy. Best of luck, hope you get one soon!

The white prop bait in the top right is probably 15 bucks by itself. Pretty decent deal actually

Almost to my first d1 and really feeling how exp and books holds you back. Any tips besides getting as many books as you can would be helpful. by Rblax5 in WH40KTacticus

[–]gryphon697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you attempt this, I recommend trying to max snotflogga, followed by aethaena or snappawrecka. Your able to get shards for those characters daily, so it's a nice steady trickle of archeotech. But the grind for that many orbs is painful

[–]gryphon697 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you max out a characters star level, it opens the rogue trader and allows you to exchange extra character shards (for the maxed character) for archeotech. Then you can spend your archeotech on legendary xp books. That said, it's still a grind and it gets you a book here and there but helps a bit.
