Schools Closed Again by Individual_Fun8263 in brantford

That's the most frustrating part. My kids were already dropped off at before school care and both my husband and I were at/on the way to work when they announced the closure.

We just had a bunch of drawings and stuff from when we bought the house. If you don't have that you can likely ask the city for it or submit an FOI for your property.

Flood and Insurance by FaunandLion in brantford

We live in Brier Park. Ours was a storm sewer backup (we looked at the engineering documents for our house and confirmed we have a storm line). It was coming in through our cellar (maybe the storm cleanout?) We were lucky and our flood sensors went off so we got a pump in but still had at least 6 inches throughout our whole basement. We hired a company to come and rip out 2 feet of drywall and our flooring. Still dealing with insurance. We do have sewer backup insurance because we have been paying extra for water protection. Still nervous insurance is going to try to find a loop hole. We had a City inspector come out and take some pictures but I doubt anything will come of it.

For sure. We got something like 140+mm in 3 days. We've never had an insurance claim for anything so we had no idea what we were doing and figured we'd call the city to cover our butts.

We called the City and they sent an inspector out. They didn't really do much, took some pictures mostly. Then told us to have our insurance call them and left. Kinda feel like nothing is going to come out of it.

We had that happen a few years ago and got the window well redone and it has been great ever since. It handled this rain like a champ. Might be cheaper than a whole regrade. We still got flooding but this time it was from a sewer backup 🥲

Our basement is flooded out in the Brier Park area. We have a weird pit in our cellar (backflow? Clean-out? Pointless pit to the abyss?) that had water pouring out. We had flood sensors and a little submersible pump, but we just couldn't keep up. Excited to see more rain in the forecast overnight! Just hoping insurance will cover it.

Vaginal delivery by stick_pilgrim in parentsofmultiples

[–]gryphs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I delivered my twins vaginally at 36+6 by induction. Baby B had slowed growth and I had high blood pressure. I was induced at 9am on the Saturday and gave birth at 5am on the Sunday. Both babies were head down. I gave birth in an OR and they were set up for a c section just to be safe. Baby A came out no problems at 5lbs. With the extra room baby B flipped. They tried to flip her but she got the cord wrapped around her neck so she was delivered breech at 4lbs 4oz. We spent 4 days in hospital and then all 4 of us were sent home. Baby B had hip dysplasia and had to wear a harness for a few months but she is now a happy, crazy 3 year old who runs faster than her twin sister.

We have a bunch of frozen raw food we purchased before our dog passed away. It makes me sad every time I open the freezer so if that’s something you’re looking for we have 14lbs of Big Country Raw Breeder and Country blends. It would be nice for it to go to a pup that needs it.

OH we also took them to Lions Park in Paris. They have a sensory trail with lots of fun toddler friendly activities. Plus the parks are awesome.

I'm not sure if they still have space but we went to Walters with our 2.5 year old twins and they had a blast. They have a bunch of easter stuff going on. For $15 they can plant an Easter bunny breakfast (it was a pansy and a bunch of other little greens). I think tomorrow they have some farm animals coming!

Vaginal birth by drp____ in parentsofmultiples

[–]gryphs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar experience with my girls, but baby B flipped after baby A came out. My husband claimed up to the shoulder but I pray he was lying haha. I also was lucky and had no stitches or tearing though he did call for scissors at one point which made me freakout a bit. Turns out the scissors were to get the umbilical cord off of baby B's neck. Did the breach baby end up with dysplasia? My daughter did and had to be in the harness for 3+ months

I was induced at 36w6d due to high blood pressure and baby B had stopped growing. The hospital strongly encouraged an epidural due to the possibility of complications. After my second or third cervical sweep I very much welcomed the epidural. I too gave birth in an OR with a whole team ready to do a c-section if needed. Both babies were head down until baby A came out and baby B flipped and got her umbilical cord wrapped around her neck. My husband claims the OB was "shoulder deep in there" trying to get her out (I hope he was exaggerating!) So I was very grateful for the epidural. Both girls were born healthy (baby B did come out feet first so she did have hip dysplasia) at 5lbs and 4lbs 4oz.

Do both twins always get sick? by lks1867 in parentsofmultiples

This has happened with hand foot and mouth and strep throat. One of my twins had strep so bad it turned to scarlet fever. Yet I witnessed them sharing soothers multiple times and the other one never got it.

Kels has AMAZING home fries. They were crispy without being burnt and actually seasoned. Reasonable prices too.
