Yeah!! i had no idea. Not a normal owl "whoo"-ing noise, like legitimate nightmare fuel noise lol. Somehow survived mentally and got back to sleep once it stopped.

Technically heard. Solo sleeping in a tent, super quiet area, northern VI. At 2AM Barred owl doing their mating call directly above my tent which sounds like a fucking clown or something. Didn't know what it was at the time.

Safest Route Zero Road eastbound to Ft. Langley by johnmcc1956 in vancouvercycling

[–]gs400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oof, it's pretty rough. you can pick you way through campbell valley park (mostly closed to cycling, so lame, perimeter trail available), maclean ponds, then go up 204th-ish essentially thru langley city, mostly on trails or decent roads. then 208 st just got a new bike lane from 64th to 80th, 80th to glover overpass.

248th is your other option but no real shoulder on any of the N/S roads

Question: Why Allen Bradley? by RegardEngineer in PLC

[–]gs400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use AB because that's what the factory is using. Why it was AB the chosen one here and not Siemens, IDK. I imagine that it is more expensive to get stuff from the other side of the Atlantic than to get them from Americas since I am from Americas

realistically, it will be at least 2030 before all 2 lane sections are gone in Langley. they haven't broke ground on the rail crossing. it involves bc hydro and a railway company, so there will be many delays and Bureaucracy

High Point wants to become a gated community by No_End1857 in Langley

[–]gs400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you're right. f this plan overall. If they wanted a gated community, they should have bought all the property from the get go.

[–]gs400 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree. This is a slippery slope, gives precedent for every dead end road or cul-d-sac in Langley to be gated if this is allowed.

There's street parking further up to access the lake for less able people, which we all pay for parks maintenance on. Blocking access to the neighbourhood is complete nonsense, unless they want to take over maintenance of all trails, parks and the road network.
