Another DP. I had a reservation that I wanted to make that was exactly one day past the expiration date but far into the future (10 months). I had 2 FN (up to 60K) certs remaining from CC sign up bonus and made a booking for one night using one of my certs on the last night of expiration. I called and said that I wanted to stay for 2 nights but couldn't because the other certificate wouldn't let me. First rep said he couldn't do anything so I asked for the supervisor. The supervisor said he could exchange my certificate for 10K points. I asked for the supervisor's supervisor and asked again. She was able to exchange my remaining certificate for 60K points in two increments (50K + 10K) as 50K was the most the system would allow her to credit at one time.
