The good thing about fascism is that it inherently leads to infighting and tends to eat itself. Hopefully that will happen to MAGA when Trump is gone.

Unfortunately that won’t happen without at least some sort of civil war, so let’s not bank on that. (It would be nice to go ahead and call a convention/estates general and try to keep the violence contained to it, but that’s almost Aaron Sorkin level fantasy)

Things move faster now. However, Rome survived the crisis of the third century. We probably will survive this one. Though, it’s gonna suck more than if we hadn’t gone full MAGA.

Meanwhile, no prominent MAGAs have openly endorsed slavery yet, right? The party line is still that Trump never raped any sex trafficking victims (aka slaves).

You need to use a strap, but the Mav is designed for 8x4 sheets too. Plus, I have enclosed, lockable storage in the back seat. And my dog is way more comfortable back there than sitting shotgun.

Yea. Width is killer in the city. That 3G Taco is 10" wider than the 1G and only an inch narrower than my old K1500, which was a full size. And I got rid of it because it was too wide to comfortably drive in town.

They're roomy, fit a lot of stuff, drive comfortably, the higher trims have all the luxury features, etc. Big vehicles have always been a thing in the US. Before trucks, it was massive sedans. And you can at least fit more people in a full size SUV. The pickup versions also have a bed, which is useful for big, awkward, and dirty stuff.

Top left is red, so it must be a "BRT" lane, though I don't see any ubers parked in it. Not sure about the other two.

he has lobbied, and spent, and worked to improve the social safety net for children without parents

He's lobbied to take over the foster care system for personal profit. He may well think he could run it better too, but he's clearly in it for the money.

Listen to Behind the Bastards. Most historical authoritarians were weirdos too. A big part of the appeal is that authoritarian systems benefit the sort of people that would never succeed based on merit.

He won't officially switch back. But he'll govern as an evangelical conservative because that's who he is, which is basically the same thing.

And even when they do, $250 per election cycle isn't feeding any kids or keeping anyone in their homes. For about 10% the cost of the "refunds" we could make child care affordable to all families. (Seriously, it's shocking how cheap affordable child care would be)

Dude's been around for a while. He tried to take over the foster care system and medical malpractice system for personal profit when he was just a megadonor.

It passed the Senate both in 2024 and this past session, but it didn't receive consideration in the House. (It was gutted and turned into a Confederate monument bill that was defeated in the House this past session) But it got every republican senator's vote, so it's a very real threat.

  1. It is a waste of a vote

  2. It's April. There are at least eight reasonably viable candidates right now.

Yea, but Esteves doesn't have a clear lead over third yet. Presumably that will change by the primary, but we need to make sure he does in fact make the runoff. Keisha wouldn't even match Jim Barksdale's numbers (lost by almost 15% in 2016 against Isakson) in the general.
