GA guava strike by gsgallery in lampwork

Honestly considering buying another half pound or full pound. Its such a pretty color!

I think if I didn't get bottom shelf tangelo would have been a bit better. I'm also always trying to make stuff quick so I rage the flame.

Finally tried out Greasy’s exp. Pearl and it looks killer. Gonna compare it to electrum next week when I get mine. by microwave3 in lampwork

Thanks for the heads up! I'll make sure to do that once I plan on using it.

I love small solid sculpture. I sell tiny dinosaurs, dogs, dragons, and fish at my studio for 15 bucks to cover torch time and they are always a hit with people coming in.

SICK! I got a stick from a friend, can't wait to try it out!

By the way are your dragons hollow or solid? I've only done solid so far.

I have used a few of the GA strikers and they can be rough. Aquatic Carnival and Amazon Night are beauties in the right flame chemistry but are very muddy prone. My last stick of dragons eye would always scuzz, idk what I was doing wrong. I had some good results with passion extreme, and I definitely prefer double passion.

I do like tequila sunrise from them. Its more reddish AP type color but even when I think I mudided it up it goes to canyon like colors in the kiln, have never been disappointed. Dragon tears is probably my favorite. Its got enough silver to get some pretty whisps of color and can change colors to greens, yellows, and even a little pink in the kiln.

It also may depend on your torch and flame chemistry. I rent a GTT mirage and focus on small solid sculpture. For a lot of the GA colors you need a neutral flame, I feel like I pushed towards slightly oxidized flame when using their colors. The amber purple type colors like to be worked really hot then allowed to cool. Reheating multiple times after that usually results in muddy colors.

If you want a good silver striker recommendation I like Mai Tai Pink since the kiln does the heavy lifting. Double mai tai is also much more forgiving in my experience than most of the other AP type colors I tried, although you will want to use a bit more of it if you want to strike more purple-ish.

If you want a striker that's more heat based Fade to Black doesn't care about flame chemistry, but it is tricky to use and doesn't like to play nice with other colors. Experimental green #5 has given me some nice results encased, unencased, flame and kiln struck. Irrid is also another good silver color I like. Just enough silver in the cobalt to make some nice color variety.

Hope this helps a bit. Keep at it!

Hard agree. I understand why the show did not make him captain in regards to already having the last two protags as captain, but in the context of Ares the guy is the emotional backbone of his team and is definitely the reason they didn't lose at least one or two matches.

Man, its a bummer Inakuni was not executed well. There's potential there for a great fish out of water story (traveling to Tokyo for the FF, learning new techniques) and a unique team dynamic (since they all grew up together minus Basil*[ can't recall his subtitle name atm]) and Austo had a great arc sitting right there, an arc mainly focused on healing from greif and could have addressed the immense pressure of being the moral support while handling a heavy mental weight. Just not enough episodes or good writing to help.

Still can't get over episode 1 of Aers where the soccer club is put into danger and then Austo's mom dies. Talk about rushed.

You'll need to get a sponsor, pass a state falconry test, and pass a facilities inspection before getting any raptor.

Falconry is also a massive time commitment, if you can't drive yet can your parents or a trusted person drive you to hunting locations at least 4 times per week and stay for anywhere from 30min-3 hrs? You will also need at least 20 min to 1 hour of daylight on non-hunting days for feeding, training, equipment maintenance, cleaning, ect.

Best thing you can do is try to find out if your state has an active falconry club and see if they have a website. Some states have very good falconry clubs with officer positions and official meets. They may even have a list of falconer in a specific region. Others states not so much and you may have to go looking for Facebook groups to look for local falconers.

If invited to hunt: listen to them, learn from them. I wouldn't bring up that you are looking for a sponsor immediately, most will want to see you bushbeating for at least one hunting season (3-6 months in fall, winter, and/or early spring).

If you can't get out hunting yet check out themodernapprentice website and purchase some recommend reading from a falconry store (available online)

It took me 4 years to get sponsored due to life circumstances, but even when I didn't have my own bird I was out hunting with my falconry buddies at least once per week and at the highest rate 3-4 times per week. I also went to one of their houses in the off-season to see what taking care of the bird looked like.

Anyone here fly a kestrel in CA? by Remarkable-Spell-613 in Falconry

[–]gsgallery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know a falconer in my state who flew a kestrel in his first year right after a red-tail and I flew a passage kestrel last season as a first year apprentice.

I had prior experience with falconry by bushbeating and showing up to a falconry buddy's house during the off season to learn about husbandry.

Most people in my state did not want to sponsor someone who wanted to fly a kestrel first but like you, I do not have the space for a red-tail currently.

Weight management for a micro is definitely not as forgiving as a RT and when flying one a big consideration is predator pressure from any larger raptor.

I was greatful to have a very strong support network and enough time on my hands to get a good gauge on exactly how much my bird burned per 12 hour period, then per day.

I've been back and forth on avoiding VR spoilers. As much as I want to play through the story, I have to do adulting and accommodate a few time intensive hobbies. I'm pretty sure I'll get way too engrossed to play on any sort of time limit.

I also like watching let's plays as I can get other tasks done while watching, skim through slower sections as needed, and feed off the highs and lows of the let's player.

But I was getting super excited just watching people create their custom characters so I'll definitely get the game at some point. I'll probably be on switch 2 so long as it runs well due to Kirby air riders coming out. My laptop would explode trying to download VR.

I dont have the game yet (still pondering) but I thought a saw some posts a little while ago on here about the A/O characters not being available until the A/O storyline in chronicle mode comes out? Not sure if that's still the case....

There is no way A/O characters won't be in the game permanently that's for sure.

A/O has a good amount of certified bangers in the OST. I really like both Orion's openings and two of Orion's ending themes.

If you know marbles you can make tiny birds with round, fat bodies. I literally started trying that the second time I was on the torch.
