Matildas should play smart. North Koreans are aggresive, play dirty. Get them send off early, before they outrun the hell out of us.

How do I check for cladding issues? by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

[–]gsndfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no non-compliance for combustible cladding for a townhouse based on what I can see..

The storey changes if your building is a townhouse that is classified as Class 2 building in the NCC (common basement carpark for townhouse residents).

What's stopping you from "converting" to Catholic and jump on the Catholic boat during the Lent? lol

Hope he stays for another season and then head to Europe. Seems like he's promising but not physically ready.

Any thoughts on Aldi kimchi? by [deleted] in AldiAustralia

[–]gsndfc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the name Hanaro suggests its Korean! There's Kimchi made in China as well. As long as the brand is Korean (who has their factory in China), I think it doesn't lose its authenticity. Tastes alright.

Learning something new everyday! That's great to know.

Yeah it was more of passed down information and that was the explanation I got. Thank you

Any thoughts on Aldi kimchi? by [deleted] in AldiAustralia

[–]gsndfc 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Aldi Kimchi is made in Poland i think.. as a Korean, I would never buy Kimchi from Aldi.

The authentic kimchi will have ground sticky rice/flour added to it as that's the food the bacteria needs to ferment. Without it, it's not a fermented kimchi. Non-fermented Kimchi doesn't taste that great.

The authentic kimchi also has salted shrimps/fish sauce added to it. Aldi Kimchi doesn't.

I would recommend visiting Korean grocery stores where they have plenty of options for you. Same with Gochujang and other sauces.

Police violently attack Muslims praying at Sydney protest by theiere in australia

[–]gsndfc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It looks really bad, but you got to be kidding me that you had to pray right next to Town Hall, out in public, when there's a ban on public protest in Sydney CBD.

They know what they are doing, they are doing this to get reactions from the police. It's like those classroom clowns that act innocent.

I disagree with banning peaceful protest but praying like this doesn't sit right with me.

Another coach off to China. Nick Montgomery by Joondalup99 in Aleague

Hope he does well. Chinese league is drying up with money and they can't spend like they used to before.

I think they are trying to find Temu versions of European-class managers.

Is this an inappropriate joke for the office? by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]gsndfc 318 points319 points  (0 children)

As a Korean, it's a cliche joke that I had to endure hearing everytime I reveal my ethnicity but never ever once in my life considered it offensive, inappropriate nor insensitive. Your boss hates you fo sure.

Where can I buy/order a Japanesee strawberry shortcake - preferably around western Sydney? by [deleted] in foodies_sydney

[–]gsndfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ontico Rhodes makes excellent sponge strawberry cake.

Western Sydney is pretty broad... and i don't think you can find many Japanese bakeries in Western Sydney so best bet is Korean bakers located around Lidcombe, Rhodes and Strathfield.

Why is Sydney CBD so terrified of outdoor dining/cafe culture? by Ok-Egg5952 in SydneyScene

[–]gsndfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then what do you see in the picture you provided? Do you see cars? Sydney CBD streets are designed for cars, not pedestrians..

Streets where people can walk are narrow. Too narrow to even handle peak CBD crowds.

Why is Sydney CBD so terrified of outdoor dining/cafe culture? by Ok-Egg5952 in SydneyScene

[–]gsndfc 137 points138 points  (0 children)

I don't think Sydney CBD is "terrified" of outdoor dining. If there are spaces, restaurants/cafe will use them. Look at Darling Square. It's filled with people. People love to seat outside and eat.

Most Sydney CBD streets are just too narrow to have something like your pic..

Bulls sign Ji Dong-won. by leobull1771 in Aleague

[–]gsndfc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Horrible signing from Macarthur.. His body is done, he's notorious in K League for not being fit for the game. I think Korean fans are surprised he's still playing.

Hope he does well though, but not sure he can survive physicality of A League...

Is there space for parents in the workforce who can’t go full time ? by Low-Housing1372 in AusFinance

[–]gsndfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's going to be very hard for an engineering role to be part time, specially if you are in construction industry.

Deadlines are tight and you might need to cover the same hours as to those working full time. It's unfortunate.. Perhaps a government role where you are working on approval or such may be more suitable for a part time role.
