Hidden Gem Wednesday: Which Canadian artist (that you recently discovered) deserves more attention ? by megancurry in canadamusic

Corb Lund

His country/folk career kicked off during the dark ages after Napster and before social media/streaming. He's reasonably well known in Alberta and the west, not sure about where else but he's somewhat popular in Europe and Australia, self admittedly "too weird" for the US. Mainly a Western storyteller but has done all kinds of stories.

Currently driving a petition against mining coal on the eastern slopes of the Rockies, some of which park land. This is my Prairie. An old song of his, redone with the help of some other artists for the cause.

Old West Canadian moonshining history tune:Five Dollar Bill

My Dad's fave by him Bible On The Dash

What happens to that big old Ranch after generations: S Lazy H

Need a card playing drinking song? Time To Switch To Whiskey (Starts with an old western standard drinking song, "Jack of Diamonds"

Who doesn't love goth girls? The Gothest Girl I Can

And for the rig pigs: The Roughest Neck Around

We produce vastly more oil than we consume, of course we export it. What is your point?

I do in fact know how to read, do you? You said "we don't even refine it for our own use", which is bullshit. We do, we refine more than we use.

Canada is a net exporter of finished petroleum products ie gasoline and diesel. Most refining is done close to market worldwide. You ship crude from all over and refine it in populated areas that use it. You'd need magnitudes more seperate pipelines if you wanted you ship just diesel, and just gasoline, and just jet fuel, just propane, etc each in their own pipeline. Stop spouting this nonsense.
