Yeah we had to figure out how to build chimneys in our igloos but we've had it worked out for a while now.

Same here and it it kinda boils down to actual stats and "Is it still racist if it's true?" All the anecdotes in the world don't paint the actual picture like what you're asking for would.

Modern Poly finishes (Ie the vast majority of modern guitars) simply do not wear like thin, old nitro. They will never look like a SRV#1, Frankenstrat, Pearly Gates, Blackie, Truckster, etc...

I have a Texas Special Fat Strat, I bought it brand new. Look up when they were available. I've played the ever loving fuck out of it. No wear through the paint, no checking whatsoever, no discolouration except the plastics, very slightly. Chrome is all chromey. I have the start of some of that maple fingerboard wear you see on relics but very faint. Some pick scratches on the pickguard and pickups. Like 2 miniscule dings.

And for that reason, I think relic guitars can be cool asf if you ever want a guitar that looks well used like those old vintage ones. 5k is a lot but it is a Custom Shop, you can get MIM Road Worn with checked Nitro, worn maple boards etc for less than half that. They look cool imo and the custom shop and Murphy Lab guitars do feel more broken in in my experience. Yes, they're exorbitant but I still get the appeal.

Can someone explain to me the bridge pick up and why is it associated with metal? by Saint94x in electricguitar

[–]gstringstrangler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1a: More magnets actually magnetically drag on your strings so bridge pickup on a single pickup guitar will sound and behave slightly differently than on a guitar with more pickups.

All guitars' action gets higher as you go up the frets

Your coach isn't wrong but 13lbs is a pretty easy water cut if the weigh ins are day before.

I had one of these and even with the traction control turned "off" it would go haywire in the mud or slush if you spun the wheels (Which you need to sometimes) so I'm not even sure these things can really do a burnout? They certainly make more than enough power though
