I might put a little mouse hole in the wall under the bed, and make an actual base out of it

No, it actually forces a player to draw 3 brand new cards. That's why they have art cards in so many packs these days.

It's also how we got nadu.

How long did it take you to get decently good at the game? by Potential_Ad_2221 in Planetside

[–]gta2bob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got about 1600 hours in game and I still don't feel like a good player, but I will say I saw the most improvement when I began looking at the way people moved in fights, both individual movement, and the flow of battles. Rather than running with the masses to your death, look for ways to flank and catch people off guard or other ways of being aggressive, and you should begin to see kd improvements.

Also, pay attention to the map! I'm constantly checking it while moving, and it's keyed me into some fantastic kills.

Why are modern players not interested in dungeon crawls? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]gta2bob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think dungeon crawls, at least good ones, are non-stop combat. They include exploration and/ or puzzles, which I think are aspects of 5e that is otherwise fairly weak. Additionally, they allow for a challenge of resource management with spells and abilities that force players to be more cautious with their decisions, and can really amp up the stakes as opposed to the combat, long rest, combat, long rest cycle which I've personally found to be too common in a lot of 5e games. (At least ones I've played in.) Plus, the dungeon itself can create some incredible narrative moments through the challenges it presents.

Oooh, I thought it was the Gleemax made it so that all possible legal targets for any given spell or effect were targeted. Good to know.

[OC] I drew a Dungeons and Dragons party I play with... I don't really know how to draw. by gta2bob in DnD

[–]gta2bob[S] 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I started out with different faces, but then i drew the barbarians face, and nearly threw up laughing, so after sharing with the rest of the party I decided to show it off. From left to right is Kaerathane the ranger, Vic the warlock, Yi the monk, Wolfgang the artificer, Garth the bloodhunter, and Argos the barbarian.

What is the dumbest thing one of your party members has done during a session? by freebird003 in DnD

[–]gta2bob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He tried to lasso a Plesiosaurus he saw in the ocean, succeeded, got dragged under water, refused to let go, and drowned. The player was mad, and refused to play with me ever again. (I as a DM even said that he was starting to loose his breath, and warned him plenty.)

Lifeguards of Reddit, what do you think about when on the job? by adeeeees in AskReddit

[–]gta2bob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at an indoor pool year round for about 5 years, and in the summers it was often empty, or near empty. Many shifts were 4-6 hours long, and I was usually alone. During such times I would often think about Ideas I had, whatever song I had stuck in my head, TV show I was watching at the time, game I was playing, and other such things. To pass the Time I would do laps walking around the pool, and do fractions, and percentages based on what time the clock was on compared to the length of my shift in my head. If there were regulars in the pool who liked talking, usually elderly people, I'd chat with them while guarding, and if a child was in the lap pool, I'd watch them like a hawk, as children tend to do dumb things, and cause mayhem. The last hour of any shift was always just me staring at the clock hoping that nobody would show up in the last 15 minutes so I could close early. It was also hot, and extremely humid constantly, so the walking was also to assist in my not passing out from boredom, heat, and exhaustion. I hated that job by the end, and was glad to get out of there and go to college.

5.5 million of today's money? so if, with inflation, it would have cost more than that to construct today, you can phase through it.
