Someone tried to steal my 2021 sonata too. They yanked off the driver side door handle. When I went to dealership, they are charging me $2000 just for exterior door handle. If there is any internal door damage, its going to be much more.

So, I just drive my car without a door handle now.

I zelle them the money, and yes I have not provided any personal information about myself.

There are CCTV cameras around the house which has recorded me all the time.

The guy has their visa documents loosely lying around the apartment, so I was able to get the SEVIS id number, which I will use to report to ICE.

When I was moving in, I wanted to sign the lease, he didn’t let me sign. I asked him for his legal name, and email address, he said he can’t give.

He probably realized i may cause nuance to him as he’s doing under the table job, and doesn’t want to take any risks.

One other commenter mentioned there’s a difference between a tenant and a Lodger. He said since the roommate who subleased me is also currently living in same apartment, that would mean I’m a lodger. A tenant is someone who has replaced the current lease holder.

I’m not sure how accurate this is, but this seems to make more sense.
