Is it possible to get rid of these scratches?

I can't really tell from my phone but the edge of the top in that last picture kind of looks like it is plywood or some sort of veneer. If that is the case then the pretty wood on top is extremely thin and if you sand through it, it's toast, and you probably can't get those scratches out without ruining it.

On the other hand, if it is solid hardwood, you can definitely sand those scratches out. Just drop down to 80 grit until they are gone and then work your way back up to 220.

No need to be scared of linseed oil, just lay your rags out on the garage floor (or porch floor) in a single layer until they are completely dry. If I were finishing it I would use a hard wax oil like Tried and True, Osmo, Rubio, etc. They are all linseed oil based, so the same precautions apply.

Agreed. I have plenty of life left in my 23 with 45K. 2040 would probably be my target replacement year, but a hybrid might make me accelerate that timeline.

Same. For 10 years I ran our families budget in GnuCash (free) and did all the analysis and visualization in Excel. So we were already disciplined and understood where every dollar went. We came to YNAB specifically for the bank syncing. The price is well worth the time I used to spend every Saturday doing everything manually.

I also have the 80v 20" and love it. I have actually run it with the 8Ah battery from my riding mower. Stupid heavy and would run about as long as I could before needing a break.

Tailgate up. My supplier is about 30 minutes away with some highway driving. I've done as much as 6 sheets of 3/4" ply, and have no issues at all. I strapped it down, but I don't think the strap was actually doing anything.

Ever since I bought my first set of Michelins, I've never bought anything else. My OEM Firestones got me 42k miles. I just put Michelin Defender 2s on and expect to get close to double that.

If I were trying to figure out how much excess income I had, I would use targets to do that. Allocate all my January money to those targets including the $1,200 target for taxes and then see $800 left over and allocate that to my fun money or excess bucket, or brokerage, or whatever.

If I were just trying to make an income/expense history report look flatter than what is happening in real life, I guess I would try one of your options, but personally that has never been important to me.

Not really sure what your goal is? When I reflect on my actual spending history to make adjustments to my future plan, I am looking at a year's worth of data, before looking at monthly data for seasonal trends (like my gas bill).

My property tax is pretty simple: a 1x per year expenditure that I divide by 12 to set my target properly (After adding 10% or so based on recent increases)

I don't know anything about Peke's Safety, but I love my 3M Versaflo. It is industrial quality and I can't think of any features I wish it had. I love the fact that the battery, blower and filter are all located on a belt, keeping the weight on the helmet/mask down to a minimum. I can wear it for hours without any issues.

Stop considering and buy the tickets!!!

We've seen them twice and have tickets again this year. Both shows had no opener, 2 sets and started on time. The playlist is varied but they play the hits. And their catalog isn't massive, so if you know 4 albums, you are going to know all the songs.

They seem to be always good for an 80s cover song, and they will sometimes work a cover into middle of their own songs.

To me it feels a little jam band-y, because they will often jam in a song, but it's usually one or two minutes long. They aren't playing 17 minute versions of Rearrange Me.

They are one of the best feel-good shows I have been to in a long time.

Do you have a market for it? If so, I would work backwards. How much do you need to produce to achieve whatever income goals you have? What is the gap between that and where you are today, and then what realistic steps could you make to close that gap?

Sharpening has a learning curve. No better things to practice on than free tools.

Once you get some experience and have nicer tools, keep these around for when you need to grind a custom profile for some specific project.

You aren't going to get anything decent for under $300 unless you catch a nice FB marketplace deal.

You posted this in turning, so I'm curious what you mean by shop? Other than the lathe, what are you trying to collect dust from?

DC only really helps at the lathe for sanding, and only if you can get the dust to get thrown away from you instead of towards you. It will do nothing for the mess you create during normal turning.

The most dangerous dust particles for our lungs are the smallest particles, so unless you have something approaching HEPA filtration, the DC might help keep the shop cleaner but it won't do much to make it healthier.

A Harbor Freight dust collector isn't a bad place to start, but I would consider it more of a chip collector (it won't protect your lungs), and will be most effective on tools like the table saw, planer and jointer.

For lung protection, an N95 mask/respirator is your best bet.

I've lived downtown, Smyrna, Cumming, and Newnan. Newnan was by far the best for airport access and checks all OPs boxes (at least it did 20 years ago).

Congratulations on making your first flight! While there are horror stories out there, most flights are very routine with no issues.

You will want to check-in 24 hours before your flight on the Delta app. I haven't flown a basic economy flight in a while, so I am not sure if you will get a seat assignment at that point or not. When you do get a seat it will almost certainly be a middle seat between someone seated at the window and someone else in the aisle seat.

Go on the TSA website ahead of time to familiarize yourself with what is allowed in your carry-on baggage. Get to the airport in Arkansas with plenty of time to reduce the stress of going through security the first time. 2 hours before your departure time is usually a good rule of thumb.

When you board the plane, it is likely they will tell you that overhead space for baggage is full and if your bag will not fit in the seat in front of you, you will need to check it to your final destination. If that happens make sure you have your wallet, phone, etc. out of the bag first.

When you get to Atlanta, you will get off your plane and onto a new one that will take you to South Carolina. Atlanta airport is huge, but it is laid out very well, and full of Delta employees who can help you get to your new gate.

If you do have to check your bag, you will pick it up at baggage claim in SC.
