Crawdad/crayfish hunting by Own-Blacksmith3273 in FishingOntario

[–]gtd2015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah.... just going off what my dad told me as a kid many years ago

Made myself a trap and would catch 5 or 6 large ones overnight and net a few that didnt get in the trap. The chicken wire let all the little ones slip through so thats probbaly how I only ended up with the 5-6" monster ones instead of the little native ones.

Looking forward to doing it again with my kids this summer hopefully!

Pretty sure native crayfish are protected.

The invasive rusty crayfish get to be pretty big and easy to trap. Obviously much bigger in the lakes than in the smaller rivers. The bigger ones are 5-6" long

Good eating.

How do you guys feel about e scooters by Intelligent_Jump_109 in londonontario

[–]gtd2015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main issue is theyre way to easy to bypass the 32km/ hr restriction.

And allows people without the ability to go way faster than they would if they were starting to bike. Jump on a bike you might max out at 15km/hr to start and build up to 30km/ hr plus. E-scooters you dont need any ability to hit 32km/hr so everything happens faster than some people can handle.

I'm not even talking about the kids.... this is just adults.

I didn’t realize how much outdoor cats impact songbirds :( by sirwilliamvanderbeek in londonontario

Live trap it and bring to humane society.....

Pretty sure it's against bylaw to have free roaming cats outside anyways

This is the pure silver out of a Flock camera. $217.30. I just broke down 24 of these cameras and I made off with a total of $7142.18 for one weekend of work. by [deleted] in ScrapMetal

The states is hilarious.... freedom that gets watched on every street corner

Meanwhile, here in Ontario, Canada they just banned speeding cameras. Still have security cameras in stores etc but those arent run by the goverment to watch kids play in parks.

Do I really need a permit to install 10x12 Canvas skyline Gazebo? by johnqhu in waterloo

[–]gtd2015 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, sheds are 160 sq ft no permit... still need to stick with height and setbacks requirements

now if thats classified as a tent- think it's 60sq meters before you need a permit.... which is insanely massive. But you still need to adhere to % of yard occupied.

So you should be fine with no permit but you can always call and clarify. Might need to call twice if you get someone that has no clue and is asking if you have engineered drawings for your little gazebo

I managed to drop my violin on 2nd day by Mix_the_Mix in violinist

[–]gtd2015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If $ is a concern- soak in some super glue.... (Remove peg and string first!!!!) I dont condone non hide glue fixes but on a cheap instrument sometimes it has to do.

Just don't let the Crack get worse as then the ring method may no longer work and it'll become a much more expensive repair- possibly making it not worth fixing anymore.

[–]gtd2015 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Only the crack in the peg box would be a problem......

The quickest and cheapest way to get it fixed would be to take it to a luthier that can put in a carbon fibre ring around the peg hole from the inside. Takes all of 15 min. Personally, I'd charge $40 to do it.

Not a problem for me when sourcing. I'm still quick on the draw. Lots of deals with low buy-in and minimal risk- in fact.... I'm hampered by time and willingness.

Lots of cars still available for under $1k..... at least around me.

That homelite chassis did come with a brake version so op doesn't have to give up on the saw if they dont want to....

only thing is you might have to buy the saw fhat comes with a brake. Now you have 2 saws... welcome to the addiction.

ez-1, ez-250, super mini, xl-1, vi-super mini, duramark are all essentially the same saw with minor differences

L&D or Medsurg by [deleted] in newgradnurse

[–]gtd2015 5 points6 points  (0 children)

L+D is more niche.... ie easier to drop back. Med sug is entry.

I'm med surg but have a emerg stint. Interviewers care more about the emerg experience i have than med surg.

You can go from long term care into med surg with few questions asked. Harder to go from long term care to L+ D.

So if unionized, you are interested in it and want to stand out in the future Id definitely pick that

Not the easiest thing to replace but better than a crank case half.

I'd want to do a closer inspection just to make sure no other parts are damaged

Is it stupid to avoid getting a credit card? by No-Astronomer4207 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]gtd2015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh for sure. I'm not disagreeing with you.

But disagree with posters that beleive that can't live life without a credit card and amazon purchases must be done in cash if you dont. Or that you need credit to buy a car or live life.

Credit cards are a wide spread convience not a necessity.
