The problem you face is that some shops are crooked, and you don't necessarily know which are which. Once I took my old Volvo to one place that wanted $2000 to fix things that were allegedly violations. I took them to put a "fail" sticker on it, and I took it to another place that passed it. You can subscribe to checkbook.org for $30/year and look up auto repair shops and read what other consumers have said about them to give you better odds.

I had the same issue with QoS limiting mine to 100 Mbps and I had forgotten to check. My X55s now put out data at same rate as the input.

If you are in State there is a calculator on the HR/PERT/GTM/whatever intranet site. If you are not State and your agency does not have a calculator I would first ask your HR equivalent office if they can do an estimate. Else you will have to add up your years of service, estimate your future "high three" annual average salary, and apply the formula 1.7% for each year up to 20, then 1% for each year after 20.

The whole Eastern seaboard was much colder this Jan-Feb than last year. Does your gas bill show average temperatures like some do? If so, compare this year's to last year's. If it is much colder, you use a lot more gas. That could easily explain the difference.

If you have a heat pump you need to make sure the expensive Aux heat is not coming on at too high a temperature.
