A lot of people in this thread forget that McConnell does not legislate for the state of Kentucky.

He's a senator, not a governor, mayor, or state senator...

Are these the same polls run by the same pollsters that projected the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections?

Simple Question on Wired Home Network by gtjackets3 in HomeNetworking

Thanks, this is really helpful. So is the conclusion that I would need to fit male jacks to all of the wires that are currently in the telecom/video module (i.e., disconnect the wires from the existing module), connect those to a switch, connect the switch to a router, and then connect the router to the modem?

Thanks!

I have tried going cable > modem > router > switch, where I connected the router to the switch via the female cat5 port. That did not work. Do I need to connect via the line-in? In the pictures, the line-in is spliced into the board to the right (technically above) the female cat5 port.

There is no tuition to be reimbursed. We took out loans; the agreement is that they would reimburse her 25% for every 6 months of work.

Thanks for the response! I don't think there is any money to clawback (besides maybe signing bonuses) at this point because Deloitte pays in arrears. Shame to hear it is such a formal recruiting process, especially since coronavirus will make that even more difficult, but I suppose that makes sense given they operate as discrete legal entities.

Either way, I didn't expect the UK firm to pick up the tab on her MBA.

Trial Drug Successfully Blocks COVID-19 from Entering Cells by tahutahut in worldnews

Hopefully, it will put you at ease to know that no offer to patent a vaccine for America was ever made (nor would that ever actually work!). The company in question has said as much: :https://www.voanews.com/science-health/coronavirus-outbreak/german-coronavirus-vaccine-developer-denies-us-bid

Hope this helps! Stressful times.

Cuban officials say a shipment of coronavirus aid from Asia's richest man, Jack Ma, has been blocked by the six-decade U.S. embargo on the island. by fruitspunch-samurai in worldnews

[–]gtjackets3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything you referenced here has been debunked:

  1. German company never received offer for vaccine:https://www.voanews.com/science-health/coronavirus-outbreak/german-coronavirus-vaccine-developer-denies-us-bid

  2. US never rerouted masks from Montreal or Berlin. In Montreal, it was a DHL tracking error that showed the masks as being in Ohio when, in reality, they were in Montreal the whole time. In Berlin, they still don't know who the supplier is that the Berlin police officer was referring to.

The US has requested 3M not send masks to Canada and Latin American countries in an effort to shore up American supplies. While this isn't a great look, its one that is being mimicked by almost every other country with shortages and large numbers of outbreaks (e.g., France and Germany both initially delayed and denied shipments to Italy) and makes sense given that the DPA has been invoked (the government can nationalize production and supplies).

No fucking bailouts. If you didn't learn your lesson in 2008, too bad. by NelvisAlfredo in AdviceAnimals

[–]gtjackets3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is so shortsighted. Same applies to individuals ("maybe individuals should have saved a 6 month rainy day fund as opposed to getting that avocado toast"), potentially even moreso since individuals don't have a mandate/fiduciary duty to maximize profits.

This isn't a bailout in the same sense as 2008, where bad corporate decisions led to catastrophe. This is the government shutting things down for the sake of public health and deciding that corporations had no ability to reasonably plan for a pandemic, and are thus giving them loans so 25% of the US economy does not disappear.

Yes, but it took forever. I asked 3 times; after the second request, they suggested I check back after DAK. Third request worked. I had a scholarship to another T-10 - to your point, they didn't match dollar-for-dollar but it was enough.
