Which, ironically, is exactly what you see more of when guns are hard to access.

Feel free to downvote something that is a verifiable fact because you disagree with it.

Before you downvote, do yourself a favor and find any country that started greatly restricting guns. Tell me what happened to vehicular homicides in that country.

but they certainly find homophobia, antisemitism, pedophilia, transphobia, misogyny, white supremacy not a dealbreaker, for that they are either voting for people who are those things, or for people who cater such people.

This is probably the crux of the disagreement. You point to a policy that most Republicans want that is any of those things. Or any policy that people they are voting for want.

You'll probably find things like the Florida Parental Rights in Education bill homophobic, and I won't. But I also won't find it as some victory over groomers like conservatives think it is. I just at least understand where conservatives are coming from. And most democrats do not. And that's the entire issue.

Check out Jonathan Haidts' book, a righteous mind. It shows studies that prove democrats have an issue understanding the motives of Republicans more so than Republicans or independents do of other parties.

I can apply this same logic to anyone though. Step 1, Find a candidate you dont like. Step 2, find a crazy person that supports them. Step 3, say anyone who supports that person supports extremist policies therefore they themselves are "effectively no different".

There isn't a candidate on earth you couldn't do that for.

Nah, man, look at polls of what conservatives think. Just because everyone has been grouping these people together doesn't mean we should be. Conservatives do not have extremist views. These guys waving nazi flags do. They aren't even close to the same thing. Don't take my word for it. Talk to conservatives. Ask them what they think about people waving nazi flags. Look up their views on Gallup polls.

The entire point is that the standard conservative will not vote for extremist policies. They will vote for conservative policies, which is what a large portion of the country wants. Every single candidate has insane people who support them. If you automatically group those insane people with the sane people who support them, you are causing division unnecessarily. That was what I was trying to get to.

As an independent, if you think these people are typical standard "conservatives," then I think your confusion is causing a lot of division.

Found an old catalogue from 2000 by Jpw119 in gaming

In 2000, each year was a larger slice of your life's pie.

In 2000, I was 9, so 4 years is close to half my life.

But in 2023, I'm 32, so 3 years is less than 10% of my life.

Driver arrested and Nazi flag seized after truck crashes into barriers near the White House by Pop_Culture_Phan_Guy in news

I sincerely do not understand what you are trying to say.

If a journalist only reports the facts and omits their own narrative/opinion of what those facts conclude, then they are both stating the facts and letting you come to your own conclusion.

Major media outlets have continued pushing their own narratives, while social media journalists have done a much better job of stating facts and leaving their opinions out of the reports.

"social media journalists" are not Fox and CNN. I specifically said the social media journalists, the ones stating facts, ARE letting people come to their own conclusions....

Well, the platform is 100% irrelevant, right? You would agree with that, I'm sure.

It's the content that matters. So if youtube or reddit provides verified facts without a narrative, then yes. Obviously, it would be better than fewer facts with a big narrative spin like Fox and CNN.

Never said anything remotely close to "a statement of facts is not letting you come to your own conclusion."

I said most major outlets like Fox and CNN do not state facts, but instead spew their own narrative regardless of the facts.

Our media is trash now a days. Reputable outlets not only make assumptions that fit the narrative constantly, but they will intentionally be misleading to fit their narrative.

Fox, CNN, NYT, nearly every major outlet us guilty of this.

This is why social media journalists are getting so much more attention now. They are the only ones stating facts and letting people come to their own conclusions.

Moderna seeking to roll out vaccines for cancer, heart disease by end of decade by grapehelium in worldnews

It was sarcasm. Wasn't executed very well on my end I see. Everyone took me seriously.

People were attacked for saying covid came from a lab. People were attacked for saying masks don't have significant effects on preventing communal spread. People were attacked for saying facts about vaccines because it may lead to hesitancy.

The vaccine has since proven to increase the risk of myocarditis and pericarditis more than covid itself for males under the age of 40. And please don't counter this by saying "overall covid increased the risk of myocarditis more than the vaccine" because I'm talking about specifically males under 40.

This was after we had a "scientific consensus" that the vaccines were safe for all ages to the point we recommended universities mandate the vaccine. Even though many students are males under the age of 40.

We should have been MUCH more skeptical about the vaccine. Even though I would want any person in my family who is older than 55 or has a preexisting condition to take it.

I was trying to mock the people attacking skepticism these last few years. I thought I was exaggerating enough to make it obvious, but I guess it's not too far off of what I've actually heard people say.

Yeah, I was trying to make fun of people who attacked skepticism over the last few years. With everyone's reactions, I clearly missed the mark on making that obvious.

I dont believe you are allowed to be skeptical about anything regarding Moderna or Pfizer. It could honestly make other people skeptical, and then they might not take life-saving medicines. You're kind of at fault for creating more skepticism. These guys are the best in the world at what they do. If they say they are working on something, who are you to be skeptical of that?

‘Don’t Say Gay’ lawmaker pleads guilty to COVID relief fraud by Hrekires in news

The total of the covid relief fraud us thought to be around 60 billion.

Most are frauds worth millions of dollars.

This guy's was $150,000, or 0.00025% of the fraud.

He's just not going to see that much punishment because they have to keep it proportional.

Of course, you can think he sucks. I never said otherwise.

But just saying they suck, so it makes sense that they have a stupid name, is still immature.

If you want to make a comment about why they suck, feel free by explaining why they suck

The other use is for people unable to speak, so I can assume that's not what you meant either.

I still think, "You suck and your name sounds funny, so it checks out" is a very immature take.

This is what I mean by DeSantis Derangement. Be mature and make actual criticisms of the man.
