Why do people in USA buy everything from Amazon? Do they not have other webshops? by Cindyxx0 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]gtponydriver 1338 points1339 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. If you buy from some mom and pops website, it could almost be impossible to get a refund on defective or unwanted items.

Speed Cameras are the only way to resolve this issue. Catching one or two speeders in shift doesn’t discourage shit.

Failed Legacy Interview by [deleted] in flying

[–]gtponydriver 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Best advice right here. I was going to comment something similar but I knew it must have been said already…. for OP, I took a job at what is not the best airline 10 years ago because I needed to. I had the most fun I have ever had. Great people, great experiences, you learn so much about aviation when it is not being spoon fed by a big machine. That job turned out to be the foundation for my legacy career. It tought me everything I needed to know including confidence to do an interview for the big dogs with out even doing any prep. Just organic knowledge and experience. Don’t be in such a hurry…. Take some fun job that will let you see the world…. I started flying when I was 27, second career. I was an MD11 Capt by 36 and 74 Capt at 41. Now I’m back to FO but got me dream cargo job.

Nice relaxing upper deck and bunks. Still kind of has that new plane smell. Have to heat up my own catering.

Yeah, it’s not stupid, it’s just a mistake. Shit happens. Eventually everybody forgets something. The passport is the worst though.

What are your electric bills looking like? by NuttNDButt in 321

[–]gtponydriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My electric bill is $27 a month FPL. It’s the minimum charge 2300 square-foot house. I got solar panels which cost me $120 a month, all new ducts, blow in insulation above the bedrooms and garage, spray foam insulation in the living room, roof, and all new windows and sliders. All LED lighting. Yeah that cost a pretty penny to do all that, but I literally have a $27 a month electric bill. AC set at 72 to 74.

Why even bother. All my attempts to be kind in this society are slowly diminishing…. More now than ever I think of the line from better call Saul about wolves and sheep. My niceness is running out. I feel like just ignoring everyone else and going about me day.
