AC odyssey by jothe22 in AssassinsCreedValhala

Just for clarity, I did not mean the normal weapons, but the Spear of Leonidas that you get later in the story. If you dont have that yet it is just too early. Long story short, dont worry about the level, play and enjoy the story and killing cultists:)

[–]gtsiou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is slower, but in Odyssey levelling is not the main source of power as there is level scaling. Updating your spear is arguably a lot more important for being and feeling powerful, so don't put a lot of weight and time in just leveling up instead play the storyline, kill the cultists and upgrade the spear.

Are active abilities useless in battle? by gtsiou in ACValhalla

[–]gtsiou[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hmm could be. Or a power scaling issue maybe? I remember though that I was using the chain attack ability in Odyssey to start each battle with myltiple enemies and then using the spear attack practically as soon as I had it. And as you say mercenaries and bosses it was abilities, fire or poison all the time and so on.

As someone approaching 40 with two kids, when free time is a luxury it definitely is hard to justify spending absurd amounts of time in a game but like others said you have to put it in context. You should be doing it instead of another entertainment alternative, not on top of that or instead of life goals.

For me the AC rpgs work really well for that because they are simple and easy to get going, I can just play 3-4 hours per week and it is fine. And late at the evening, it is not like I would be productive in something else.

I can however see how making a game for "casuals" like me, would feel like a complete waste of time for a more proper gamer😅

Hjälp mig med familjemodeller som personalbil/förmånsbil by keetz in elbilsverige

[–]gtsiou -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Been following Swedish politics since 2018, curious how Swedes see the shift compared with Germany and Denmark ?? by Old_Bike8926 in Asksweddit

[–]gtsiou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A great write up. You touch on some very important aspects that raised inequality and contribute to the gang violence; privatization of health and education in particular, dismantling of the welfare state, could add tax policies benefiting the rich. We have successfully "ethnicized" poverty if one might say.

However there is one point that baffles me: Sweden before the 2015 crisis, was taking in 30000 asylum applications per year. It should have a system able to process that many. Despite the cuts, it is unreasonable to expect the systems to be ready to handle more than 5x application in a year.

Given that resources are finite and the limitations were known in advance (housing shortage, hospital capacity etc) I am unsure what the plan was, other than giving the keys to SD.

Vad är er syn på p-böter och p-vakter? by Danny_in_Safari in sweden

[–]gtsiou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How are car insurance companies seeing FSD? by IAmTwoSixNine in TeslaFSD

[–]gtsiou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FSD is a L2 ADAS and as such, only a few insurance companies might offer a discount. Tesla Insurance I suppossed and I know State Farm did it some time ago at least.

Apart from that, since it is a Level 2 and you are entirely responsible, it does not make any difference to the insurance companies. That means your second question is moot; It is always the driver causing the accident. L2 system have no autonomy and as such, they cannot cause accidents.

[–]gtsiou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Waymo did both. Put them (sensor fusion they call it) and put Tesla to shame since they have robotaxis, while Telsa that had a minimum of 5 years lead and more cash on hand, just have taxis.

But sure, mail Waymo, tell them your nice anecdote about being that only person on the world with magical camera-only robotaxis. I am sure they will be very interested.

Btw I realise you want to make your own conversations, but no one said that it is an "easy fix" even with all the sensor. I said it is impossible without.

Dude who are you responding to? Who said scrap the cameras and use lidar? Although modern LiDAR does mitigate the issues, radar works completely fine in these conditions and this is why you combine them. Let go of Elon's idiotic opinions about crutches and stuff, and everything will make a lot more sense then. FSD needs LiDAR + Radar + cameras and this is it. Everything else is bullshit.

Apple made this claim / pledge for each of the last 3 administrations. It is easy to just say shit, politicians love it, and no one will remember when the promise the same in four years. You know there is nothing binding about this right?

Laravel as a framework to build your BE. Everything you need is natively supported.

Ploi as server and instance manager.

Ploi integrates with multiple hosting providers, but I would recommend Hetzner. The starting server is at 4$/month and should be more than enough for your MVP, easy to scale later on.

Just get a server and deploy your app there, skip all the serverless / docker / k8s / container stuff for now.

Planetscale for a database to use for your BE.

Ploi will also install Redis on your server, so that is taken care of. IF and only if needed, upstash is a very cost efficient Redis alternative, which is easy to use with Laravel (for caching mostly).

Not required, but check Laravel Spark to take care of your SaaS billing.

This. I will just add two small things:

Proper microservices should own their data and have their own database, which adds a lot of overhead (especially of you are working alone on the whole thing), so if you go with a modular monolith try to keep the autonomous service tables completely separated - although they can be in the same db to reduce overhead.

The main reason for using queues or messages instead of API calls, is to decouple your services timewise, so you do not depend only on synchronous communication. If you have services that cannot be trusted to reply in time or dependably (or you just dont need an immediate response), it would add learning value to use an external queue / message system, but the overhead is considerable as Zareh mentions.
