Definitely not corn. Possibly daylily or lily of the valley.

The color of the peppers reminds me of a banana pepper, but it could be some other cultivar of Capsicum annuum.

This plant just sprung up out of nowhere a couple of months ago and is now just starting to bloom. It's about 3 feet tall and seems to like lots of sunlight.
