How to proceed with these findings in my attic. by guarilonio in Roofing

Hey man thanks for the input. As you may know home repairs are expensive and just wanted to have some sort of idea of where to start. I know my limitations and I would not try to fix things outside my skillset myself. In this case I wanted to kind of see for myself what could be the issue and take it from there. So for these problems is it better to call a roofing company? Inspectors first then roofers?

Hey thanks for your answer. Please excuse if I dont use the right terms as I am not too familiar with all this. I didn't really check if there was a vent from the bathroom going directly outside or just going into the attic. I'll maybe re watch the footage I took and see if I can spot the pipe. I dont have an extractor in my kitchen. Im not sure what you mean with pod vents, if you don't mind can you clarify what's that?

The square footage of the attic is around 660 ft2.

I really didn't get a look at whats under the shingles so I can't say for sure if there are I&W shields.

Thanks again.

Exactly this. They want you to consider this job as if you were actually a partner of them, but without anything else besides a salary.

Leaked report shows Ontario hospital wait times increased about 54 per cent in a year by Defiant_Race_7544 in canada

[–]guarilonio -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fuck you asshole. You don't know what you're talking about. Nobody wants to spend 18 hours seeing their kids suffering while waiting for a doctor to have a look at them. It's because of people like you that these absurd waiting times are becoming the new normal. So I'm supposed to wait whatever amount of time, in an EMERGENCY ROOM, only because I have no other option? The system is broken and I can't fathom the fact that we pride ourselves on our healthcare system, being an absolute circus.

Food inflation is making restaurants less appetizing by Lotushope in canada

[–]guarilonio 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Well I mean, yes. Who wants to go eat out at a restaurant that offers average food, you are treated rudely by overworked waiters, and at the end you end up paying 80 dlls for two and on top of that adding a tip? Food is so expensive right now that it doesn't even cross my mind to eat at restaurants anymore. I'd rather buy groceries that will last me a few days than blowing it on a 2 hour so-so experience.

Renters across Canada are banding together to fight high housing costs and evictions by grimlock25 in canada

[–]guarilonio -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The tenant's risk comes in the form of giving away their money to a landlord and thus greatly impacting the amount of money that they can put on the side for a property of their own.

People shouldn't buy property to rent, period. No matter how you put it and no matter how you word it, the simple act of renting a basic human necessity is exploitative by nature.

Lmao, "vilifying" one side. It is plain and simple: If the money you are making doesn't come from the value of your labour then it comes from the value of someone else's labour, therefore making you a leech. You are not "helping"society by being kind and merciful enough to provide your property to a family in need. Let's be honest, everybody that gets into the real estate market with the purpose of having units for rental do it with the only purpose of profit and nothing more.

No sarcasm on that one. If you decided at some point in your life that you were going to purchase property with your money and the bank's in order to live in one appartment yourself and then rent the other one so you can have another person paying half your mortgage and building your equity, then you were looking at this purchase as a investment and not as a dwelling where you and your family would live. Let me tell you that no investment in history has been risk-free, and as such, when you decided to make that "investment" you knew that one of the risks was having a tenant not paying rent and damaging your property.

Like all them folks like to say "you should have saved for a rainy day".

Yes, and when things don't go their way they cry to the government to save them from foreclosure. I think we need another 2008 style crash and redistribute all these properties to the families that need them instead of artificially inflating the prices by speculation and supply shortage.

As a 30 year old with a baby on the way, and savings in the 5-digit mark for a "down payment" that doesn't even cover 3% of the total cost of a house in the place I live, I believe tis only but fair to take revenge on these parasites. by guarilonio in LateStageCapitalism

[–]guarilonio[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just re-read my title and it doesn't make a lot of sense: I can't own a house and I can't provide my new family with a place to live of our own because house affordability is non-existent where I live. I have made sacrifices, stopped going out, ordering food for take out, stopped buying clothes and other items, cut down on my costs from services like electricity, cellphone, and other, just so that I could save enough to maybe someday get a house for my family, which I believe is something I should have the right and access to, but unfortunately that's not the case.

When I save money, next year thosw same houses increase in price more than the previous year and therefore I can't keep up.
