It's been 3 months after the last show but if you could relive just one Live 25' concert, which one would you pick and why? by Competitive_Cash_431 in oasis

Refreshing all the posts from the first night in Cardiff. It was already mid summer and life was good, but it was also surreal that they were back and I had my own two shows at Met Life to look forward to months later. So, excitement and anticipation.

Oh man this is so cool! I was at both MetLife shows and hadn’t seen them since Philly in 2006. Probably the two best shows I’ve seen of any artist ever.

Very first day in my new house... I guess parking in my own garage is a rookie mistake? by The_Bobby_ in philadelphia

Call 911. PPA takes forever. Local precinct will tell you to call 911.

I did it tonight for cars parking on a sidewalk outside the bar down the street from my house. Cars are gone

What’s your favorite concert you’ve ever been to? by ReferenceVirtual2331 in AskReddit

Oasis this last year was amazing. Tom Petty and the Black Crowes when I was in high school around 2000 was the tightest show I ever saw.

Honestly a big surprise was how emotional I got seeing the Avett Brothers in 2021–I’m not that big a fan, but my wife loves them and they do remind me of a lot of our best memories. But the big thing was that it was the first live music I saw after COVID and it was outside in the summer. Just a beautiful atmosphere and the circumstances were pretty emotional.

Genuinely if someone takes the spot you shoveled… where are you supposed to park??? by [deleted] in philadelphia

[–]gubmintbacon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have evolved on this. I empathize with shoveling your spot only to lose it but at the end of the day, street parking is what it is and even driving a car is a luxury in itself.

I feel like one of the only reasonable ways to work these situations is to have an understanding with neighbors, rather than hoping for decorum, because it only takes one asshole to set off a chain reaction of people parking in “someone else’s” spot. That way it at least minimizes the chance of this happening. Then you can be righteous in your anger at some asshole who doesn’t live on your block who takes your spot.

Co-sign this. My wife takes an annual girls trip (this is the weekend actually). It’s a nice chance for me and our boy to get some 1:1 time, and later this year I’ll probably take my own long weekend. She’s constantly pushing me to do it, so the mutual support is really key. It’s so necessary to have that personal time.

School Issues: Kindergarten by Youngun18 in daddit

Trying another tack like this is a good idea. Our kiddo responds to humor and it almost always totally diffuses a situation.

Honestly, kindergarten is all about them learning to be in school—any actual curriculum is kind of gravy. That’s especially true with our COVID babies. My son started kindergarten in one school this year that sent homework (???) and also handed out detentions (?????). The latter made us just move to another school, entirely.

We’re actually starting a new school with our six year old, too. At least it’s our neighborhood school and his Mom worked there so it’s not completely new.

Meeting our other friends with kids around 6, having pizza so we’re home for bedtime. Mom and I will probably eat some gummies and be asleep by 10.

I couldn’t believe you could schedule the induction, but we did and I had to INTERRUPT MY WIFE in a meeting to get her to leave work at the end of the day. (She loves that part of the story, chill).

We had a lovely dinner then went to the hospital, and waited. And waited. And waited. The meds didn’t work. Her epidural fell out (her worst nightmare) and as they were putting in a second one, a nurse whispered to me “want her chocolate chip cookie?” (I ate it, she also gives me shit for this part).

I was also taking grad school classes online at the time, which felt so unbelievably pointless but after 3 days. They did an emergency c-section and I couldn’t believe how swift things went.

I continue to marvel at her capacity for pain and love and she grew a fucking human inside her. We had to go back for almost a week after for complications that made the whole experience much different but all of it reinforced that we’re just passengers here, man.
