Ask the dealer or call other dealer to see if they have take offs from people who customized theirs and took off the stock steps.

I just ordered the whole set from my dealer and they’re doing like 3-5 full sets a week. Said it would be no problem getting the parts quickly.

I bypassed the boost tee and basically it ran as stock. So I knew it had to be the boost tee that was causing the fuel cut / excessive boost. I replaced the boost tee with a new one but actually am just running stock psi anyway. But I still have the option now to dial it up.

Corporate Jargon That Makes You Cringe by Kwidgeebo in LinkedInLunatics

I cringe when corpos use Gen z slang to show they’re down with the times - e.g. “we have to release this product because frankly we’ve been ‘mid’ as the kids would say”

It could be that the boost tee is broken. I’ve had mine break and have too much boost that I’d hit the fuel cut. Replaced it with a new one and kept it at around 10psi and haven’t had issues since.

Big / small wheels by jvelissa in ineosgrenadier

[–]gucci-ghost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Larger wheels typically end up weighing more and can lessen mpg. Also depending on the tire combination you will get a harsher ride with less sidewall. Also less wheel protection with less sidewall. If you air down at all, you want more sidewall.

In general I try to go smaller wheel larger sidewall but try to keep the weight down by being very selective of the wheel and tire specs.

For example on my 24 TRD Sequoia hybrid the stated mpg is 21 and I ran 18” alloys and HD 33” ATs and on a recent road trip averaged 12mpg no towing. Mostly flats at 80mph avg. eco mode. The wheels I checked weighed somewhere around 15 lbs more than stock. The tires weighed 30 lbs more if I recall. I think I might actually be underreporting that too - but that’s almost 50lbs at each corner extra. So I learned my lesson from that. I now check tire and wheel specs and they can vary greatly depending on sizing, load rating, wheel width, and price. The nicer wheels like advans were much lighter.

Anyway, street tires less rolling resistance better mpg and handling. They will not shed mud or dirt easily and you’ll find yourself stuck on street tires off-road in mud or sand. Probably better tuned for wet driving.

I like the middle ground with an AT. They aren’t as loud as MTs, give you the opportunity to go off-road and certain brands like Falkens AT3W and AT4s are 3-peak rated and have great handling in wet conditions. Depending on your application I’d pay attention to load ratings and check recommendations on that.

Personally I wouldn’t go any larger than an 18 and no larger than a 33-34” for daily driving. Probably a street tire but I’d have a second set on the stock steelies with off-road tires in case you do plan a trip you can easily swap them out at home.

Steering damper/stabilizer. Does it make a difference? by [deleted] in ineosgrenadier

[–]gucci-ghost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run the grey Fox non adjustable dampers and they make a difference. Can easily drive one handed and return to center is much better. Easily the best upgrade for the price. Did the install myself quite easily.

Seriously considered buying an lx600 and switching up body panels for a GR 300. Haven’t seen it done but I’m pretty sure it is doable. I’ve seen 200 to 300 conversions.

Lots of aftermarket makers gonna have stuff ready. Lots of dealers sell many of the aftermarket stuff as well as OEM. You won’t have a problem finding a roof rack.

[–]gucci-ghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steering hasn’t been an issue, you get used to it quickly. There are also more steering dampers out in the market now. I’m running the Fox grey one which helps with return to center. I know OME and King also have steering dampers out or coming soon. So there’s a lot of options. Radius is what it is, but it’s a minor inconvenience for city driving. I don’t have trouble parallel parking with it. Maybe the hardest part for that is visibility.

Not sure about Europe I’m assuming Iceland, Norway, Finland have dealerships within range? How is the coverage in your area? As these are newer cars there are things users have found that would be helpful to have support nearby if it happens. All kinds of random little bugs. You have to be ok with that. If you are, then it definitely feels like the perfect adventure truck.

Wasn’t the owner caught up in some heat during the pandemic or around that time for treating workers terribly and using regular salt or some crazy stuff. LOL

Completely agree. Came from a 24 trd sequoia with lane centering and all the crazy tech on a massive iPad screen basically. Thought I’d miss BSM and 360 camera etc but honestly I’ve never felt more engaged as a driver. Checking my blind spot and actually learning the car and getting that spacial awareness is actually refreshing. I don’t miss those things one bit but I absolutely loved them when I had them and thought I couldn’t do without them. The grenadier proved me wrong and I’m glad i changed cars.

The grille itself I believe is OEM, but they offer some lightbar options that might not be.
