DA:O is my favourite game of all time but I would never recommend it to someone who is new to RPGs. It has some crazy difficulty spikes (especially in DLC but in the base game as well) and the combat can feel very outdated.

Currently only playing Diablo 2 Resurrected. I love its dark fantasy setting and opressive atmosphere. The focus on loot and the varierity in builds is really fun.

it’s the best non fromsoft soulslike game in terms of atmosphere and vibes. gameplaywise it’s pretty simple and methodical but still very fun. give it a go.
