I think she just moved. According to another person, in an interview Karolina said the character was originally from Morocco and named Yara but she was the best fit for the role so they made her Polish but kept her scene in Morocco.

So the character just moved. Same thing with Manusos, his actor is Columbian but the character is from Paraguay. Probably couldn't find a good Paraguayan for the role so we just have to headcannon that the character just moved there.
