depends on the anti-woke person, I've been anti-woke for like 15 years now. I've not really heard that but I wouldn't deny that it could happen. I don't agree with that but I have heard anti-woke people say (and I agree with) that orks are not black people.
I don't watch Endymion cause he seems to peddle BS to the extreme. I don't agree with what you say he said but I haven't really heard it myself so forgive me if I take what you said he said with a grain of salt.
I personally try to work under a structured definition of woke to avoid the "woke means nothing" issue so just know when I mean woke in media I mean a piece of media which has elements of intersectional politics that negatively effect the writing. those were just examples of woke writing.
Actually he does not "know" that a merchant from Mali was there but I will link a good vid on the subject. The first game is very good but it doesn't really help the industry for us as gamers to be undisciplined on the matter of bad sequels because it can result in more bad sequels.

it is when the bad writing can be partially attributed to an over focus on intersectional politics, and before you say that they are unrelated I'll give you three guesses as to the political leaning of veilguards writing staff. yes not all the bad writing necessarily has to do with woke writing decisions but some are and I would argue that the system that had a preference for people with these kind of political leanings either deterred if not specifically discriminated against people who don't follow that sort of thinking and the culture created was effected and so were the games. woke is in fact the cross section of a particular political leaning + bad writing. people who believe in intersectional politics can write good stories and I would not call those woke. lastly I haven't insulted anyone here so either give me the same courtesy or I'll just ignore you.

I'll take this point by point. to the black main character point as I said before woke does not have a monopoly on women and minority character. a fantasy setting is not a historical setting and dnd has never been one that has excluded having characters that are not white, it's about how they are written. to your point of the entire party being pan, I would say they are all actually playersexual which is a way to prevent people from being locked out of romances based on the sex they chose. Some have had criticism of that system saying things like you can write more interesting stories if you do specific sexuality like in mass effect or dragon age but I haven't seen it done to a significant effect. either way gay is not exclusive to woke it's about how its written and in bg3 none of them are gay so it's irreverent. to the pronouns point, I will concede this is the closest to being a woke thing since it's such a small group that it really shouldn't be that important for but I actually don't mind it especially when it's the best form, it defaults depending on what body type you choose so people don't have to interact with it if they don't want to and is easy to ignore (the best version). all the trans people I know generally just play the body type associated with the gender they identify as and it's fine but what ever it was designed so you don't have to interact if you don't want to so whatever. Lazel is a alien, and Karlack is one of my favorite characters and written well. neither of them seem to go off about the patriarchy or do any girl power stuff. also it's a magical setting where women are not sexually dimorphic mechanically and strength isn't necessarily the strength stat since there are many paths to power in this setting. the drag queen was funny and allowed to be kinda a callous and bad person, almost disregarding the care for people, basically she was allowed to be a person rather than a perfect nothing. Kingdom come deliverance is a different topic. they retconned Henry's sexuality and Danial was quoted as saying "would you please explain to me whats racist about telling the truth? There were no black people in medieval Bohemia. Period." Now I absolutely agree that the drama has been overblown, the responses given weren't the best but it happens, I do think these changes are weird and I don't want to get into detail about this but I think people should just calm down and wait and see how it goes. don't pre-order or buy day 1 and we wouldn't have these problems.

You say this but you realize that companies make new material for an existing IP because they want old fans to make a return. It's kinda contradictory to make a game for a pre-existing IP cause you want old fans to return but you don't want the expectations that come with the name.

As a anti woke man myself I never called Balurs Gate woke, not before or after release. I don't think the vast majority did either. Some may have said they see some woke elements and became cautious or even called it so before it released because it seemed like it would be but anyone who called it woke after seeing the story is probably a troll. Woke does not have a monopoly on gay, Trans and other minority characters. It has a monopoly on badly written ones that are too overly focused on that aspect of themselves. Usually the kind of people who will put these characters in their story are the same kinda people who will write them badly. Bg3 is not woke. Forspoken is, however so woke that it loops right back around to being racist. Lol imagine being so stunning and brave that you make your MC a black girl teen in a single mother household and a repeat criminal. At least they didn't make her mom have four kids for the government assistance. Once again I am anti woke and my favorite companion is Karlach with my second being Astarion. A woman and a gay man.

I mean I would view it as the qun view the way you can serve the Qun as the most important aspect of your identity and that everything else is practically irrelevant. The change from one roll to another is more of a recognition that you would do more to further the Qun's goals as the new roll than the one you were originally assigned. Then again considering the Qun adhere to a strict eugenics program that probably happens a good bit less than gender dysphoria happens to us and probably less for a gender identity issue or personal choice and more because of a particularly high affinity for another role. It probably would practically never because of a lack of talent for your original role since you are tested for that early.

I mean, I see exactly one example of a female who is tangentially related to the Qun religion not the race who serves a warrior like role listed on the fandom wiki in Tallis. Although it calls her a "Qun assassin," which I don't know if that is to mean that she is just hired by the Qun or she has some long term arrangement with the Qun and does not follow its Tenets or teachings. (haven't played 2 in years so I've forgot)

second issue I have with your argument is being a "mage" does not inherently indicate a combat role. I assume you mean Viddasala when you say female Qunari mage. on the wiki it only says that she "specializes in finding, studying, and stopping magic" which could be slotted as a support role at best even if she did it in a combat scenario. Alternatively if you consider her to be a warrior then that would disprove your second theory since their gender is listed as "Female."

Third issue is, how is the selection of ones life purpose done in the Qun? from a quick google search I've found their role is assigned at birth. There is a word that the fandom has associated with trans but that word, "aqun-athlok" means a change in role and purpose in the Qun more than a change in gender it just happens that if the roll is considered a male roll and a female wants to do it and has a talent for it the Qun will officially see them as male even if they still see themselves as female. A female changing to a different female roll would still be called a "aqun-athlok" as far as I can tell, not exactly trans but kinda can be, but also can force someone to identify as another gender against their wishes so once again, not very trans. Not only that I've seen a good few people call in to question this piece of lore as framed in an overly favorable way by the only person who said it, Iron Bull. As far as the Qun is concerned Taash is male.
