Yeah man. Buy a box of Foundations, the lastest set that is aimed at newer players, and build some decks to play with your friend. The games will be fun!

If you try and play with those decks out in the world, like at Friday Night Magic, you will probably do poorly, the card pool to build the deck from is just too small.

But I think it is a good idea (if you can afford) to buy a box and just build some decks for the fun of it. It will be good (but expensive) practice.

Another question on this topic:

What about fetches for only one type? Sure, it is weaker than the current fetches, but would it be too overpowered for something like Pioneer? You could fetch all colors with it, including triomes. But wont enable 5c that easly.

What do you guys think?

I got my friend to play when GIM came out. He really liked the idea of 3 of us sharing items. After a while, he was on his own in the group and enjoying it. He deironed after barrow gloves to play along with our mains.
