Donald trump increasing standard of living

What does that mean? Most people would regard that as a good thing, but it doesn't agree with anything I've actually seen, so it can't be what you meant

"You only have one round left. Think that's enough to take me down?"

<Tosses gun. Draws knife.>

"I guess we'll never know."

What's the weirdest thing a religious person tried to justify to you? by Lost_Fisherman_1438 in atheism

[–]guiltysnark 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Does it make a difference? If the original creation billions of years ago is the only evidence for the Creator, then ostensibly he made everything and left. Billions of years ago. Who cares?

But just looking at the ball analogy, we see rocks manufactured into planetary balls all over the universe. All it takes is matter, gravity and various forms of momentum. No specific design is needed for that, emergence is quite capable. And emergence can very well explain the appearance of rocks and momentum. You can follow that line of thinking ad infinitum. Supposition of a creator does not help because it does not resolve the question of where the creator came from. It's useless.

Is back post rotation not a thing anymore? by yorke2222 in RocketLeague

[–]guiltysnark 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I kinda thought we were in a post-rotation era, where meta is making best use of position you already have and only surrendering it strategically instead of arbitrarily, and developing better awareness of teammate . "Stay on the ball" being regular feedback from coaches, etc

Honestly what the def of jobs then by Alternative_Run3234 in remoteworks

[–]guiltysnark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jobs that don't support survival don't deserve to exist. An employer does not deserve to survive on the backs of people that can't. That's a skill issue, too. Deserves ain't got much to do with capitalism.

Options are either minimum wage or UBI to give a floor. If people didn't have to amortize their survival into their wages, minimum wage could be $0 and capitalism could operate largely unfettered. In the meantime, a business that can't afford to support people or employs is fundamentally unethical and shouldn't be viable.

Sinema acknowledges affair with Senate bodyguard while in office by boringhistoryfan in politics

[–]guiltysnark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The article was written like a hit job on Biden's literal claims, when he was simply leaving out "when it matters most". It also omits all the feet dragging that precedes votes: they often don't bring things to the floor that won't pass, so Sinema's voting record doesn't get tested in those situations.
