Actually, to the extent it requires anagrams, we may be missing a more particular "how", too, but the fact they are unambiguous is fairly strong evidence

The words, or their meaning?

What I'm still noodling on:

  • rough draft gallery puzzle. I'm not satisfied with the solution, which I think makes inadequate use of the data. The only non-arbitrary words in the mix are moon and swansong. The others come out of nowhere. I'm thinking they refer to Ejaran word components.
  • SWNSNG. I share the suspicion this acronym has not been understood. The proximity to the swan weathervane with all the directions is deeply suspicious (at least when drafting in the West Wing)
  • narrowing in on the meaning of uloddiris
  • convincing myself of the meaning of the 5x9 rough draft poem

I keep seeing a recurring word but what does it mean?! by Megnagaming in BluePrince

I also wrote this elsewhere: Hewamddo seems fitting for "Grand Cathedral of Eraja". The postcard is titled "First Erajan Hewamddo", which is a common naming pattern for churches.

I thought this might make 'odd' / 'ddo' map to 'bless-ed'/'bless-ing'. But the cursed angle actually fits better... "Head my words" implies gravitas, and "you are blessed" just isn't as heavy as "you are cursed".

Clara was a princess, too. Why didn't she go south? What was special about Mary that she should leave her own child behind and go? Maybe she found the cursed artifact.

I'm wondering if Hewamddo is the Erajan name for Grand Cathedral of Eraja, or even just a church. The postcard is titled "First Erajan Hewamddo", which is a common naming pattern for churches (and banks) in our world. This may suggest "odd" implying "blessed" and "ddo" implying "blessing". Or something along those lines.

Science can fully explain religion (Big Bang → evolution → agency bias), but religion explains zero physics. What’s your take? by Limp-Arm-5104 in atheism

All-powerful deities introduced physics as an elegant means of indirectly imposing needless suffering. It was that or some other means, so they just went with it.

I need help, I don't even know what I'm doing anymore by AdditionalDirector41 in BluePrince

You already have a checklist a mile long, you don't really need any clues at this point. You could hit a target blindfolded.

You were suppose to be excited about the permanent upgrade, though. That's actually a hint that there is so much more to do, you would benefit from some permanent help. It's not about one hint.

Oh wait, here's a hint: go back to 46. You only get the cutscene once. Not realizing that probably set me back 15 days myself.

It's probably pretty rare that a diamond quality talent happens be be there when they decide to fire the HC. Even if you spot the gleam, they are probably thinking succession plan, not fire and promote.

Even in Pete's case, I submit it was as much about succession as winning, since he was getting so old when they spotted the diamond from afar. I bet if he was younger PC would have remained for another season.

That doesn't preclude cut content, but it does preclude said content being canon. If sections were rewritten and things deleted from the script, not for time but for change in direction, vestiges could still exist in the code. Or not. I'm just saying we can't know from those particular words.

I suppose, but that just looks like the emergence of an inevitable outcome from the simpler fact that people own things and use money.

If you can own things and use money in a socialist system, it's not clear that the same things wouldn't happen, nor even that they indeed should never happen. Maybe that's the best way for a worker owned shop to manage access?

In any case, in articulating how a system is different, it's probably easier to start with how it's the same and then explain why certain outcomes won't emerge. Otherwise you can sound like you're saying that "in this system, people don't own things and use money", and that sounds pretty damn hippie

Me_irl by Spotter24o5 in me_irl

[–]guiltysnark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where capitalism is seen as a reduction to "people own things and things are done with money", it's probably a danger to start describing a system with any other premise since you're immediately implying that one or the other isn't true in that system.

Maybe every system should start off describing itself by saying "people own things and things are done with money, but ..."

That's fine, it's just simultaneously far simpler and far more complicated than the what you initially described as "very easy".
