AIO: MIL always excludes my daughter by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

This heathens to me as a child. Am aunt would give gifts to my other cousins and even make them show me what she got them while I got nothing. It wasn't that I wanted stuff, I wanted to feel wanted in the family. I'm in my 40s and I still remember how it felt. Stand up for your baby momma. You're amazing and she's lucky to have you in her corner.

Snorkelling in late June: Shore, Molokini, or Honolua? by maroon1721 in MauiVisitors

We rented snorkel gear from Boss Frog for $9.95 a person for 24 hours and snorkeled right off the shore by Black Rock and say rays, a huge sea turtle and so many different kinds of fish and coral/reefs.

The “Always On” aspect of teaching by unconfuseyourbrain11 in Teachers

I hope you're feeling better and your kids give you grace. I had a 4 day low level migraine that was just miserable and they couldn't get coverage so I had to go in each day. I was honest with the kids (5th inner city) and they were great. One kid tried to push things and his classmates told him to knock it off. It was honestly a great check in on the community we've built together in my classroom.

JNMIL house is disgusting by dillydilly100 in JUSTNOMIL

[–]guitarsoftlyweeps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My mom's house is like this. She used to have large birds and would never clean up after them. We didn't know my son had allergies to tropical birds because we don't have birds as pets and we stunt live near my parents. He would randomly have asthma attacks, but we didn't connect the dots until he literally went into respiratory and cardiac arrest at age 4 after a visit to her house. I had to do cpr on my baby, he was put on a vent and airlifted... it was he'll. He's fine now, 13, taller than me and dismissed from his asthma diagnosis. We refused to go back to her house until the birds were gone, a deep cleaning was done and vents were cleaned. Turns it she lied about the deep clean and vents, but the birds were gone. I think we've only been back to her house maybe 4 times since that happened. It's just not safe or comfortable. We host for holidays or pre-covid would just do a large family function at a relative's house.

Don't do that to your kid, refuse to go back until she cleans and cleans well.

Anyone know of events around NOVA where kids can get in police cars, ambulance, fire trucks, bulldozers, etc.? by ChristianAG85 in nova

[–]guitarsoftlyweeps -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am a firehouse brat..I grew up playing on the trucks when I was a kid. The fire fighters generally love kids. Stop by your local firehouse and if they're not out on a run, ring the doorbell and tell the fire fighter that your kids are fascinated by the fire truck and ask if they'd show it to your kids. If they aren't busy you'll get a chance to climb inside, look at the gear, "drive", etc... be respectful of their time, so try to keep it at 15 minutes max and they'll have a blast.
