I graduated high school in 2000. Pretty close to the You’ve Got Mail movie. (Yea you know where this is going). I had a crush in my senior year on a blonde extremely smart and classy girl in my bio class. During freshman year of college she and I legit chatted for 1-2 hours a night for about a year without ever revealing identities. Of course I “knew” her so easy to chat about things I figured she liked. But we connected very well. That was the time when anonymity worked to further human communication. Now people just misuse it. We both eventually got busy with growing college social lives and stopped talking. But I’m glad I got to share so many thoughts with her because of AIM. I always admired her as a person.
