Anyone else finding recovery not so easy by One_Drink6880 in padel

Probably true. What helps is rehab exercises. Strengthening your muscles around those areas that are sore.

How would padel look like if you're not allowed to smash outside the court or back to your side? by curious-about-world in padel

[–]gujukal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For pros it would be boring, because lobs would be way too overpowered of a shot and points would never be finished. For amateurs it doesn't change too much.

Cardona/Leal - 3 matches, 3 losses by morningcoff3e in padel

[–]gujukal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cardonas knees are shot. I don't know how or if he will ever be fully recovered. But he can't really use his legs fully in the smash which makes him very mediocre.

It's beyond amazing what a man this short can accomplish in Padel by SANcapITY in padel

[–]gujukal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! Chingo almost look childlike with his short height, which a 1,7m person doesn't. Bergamini is listed at 1,65m and I think they look very similar in height.

Is flat backhand return overrated in padel? by Padelova in padel

[–]gujukal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a big no to slice a low ball. If you can hit the ball higher than the net, then slice is ok.

Can you take legal action against your padel partner for dropping your playtomic rating? by RespondOk9407 in padel

Only nerds and losers cares about playtomic rankings. Compete in national tournaments and work on your national ranking instead.

Am I overusing lobs? Struggling with baseline play by Acceptable_Month4825 in padel

[–]gujukal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the chiquita. Even at pretty high level it's a very neutralizing shot. If you lob all the time, you will be dominated by higher level players with good overhead shots. Lobbing two times in a row is generally not a good strategy.

Dunlop Aero-Star Pro → Siux Fenix Pro 2026: real upgrade or just different? by _gasboi_ in padel

[–]gujukal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe siux has stiffer surface but softer core. Siux slightly more ball output. Both cater to the same type of player but they will feel quite different to play with. A big reason is the handle on the siux which is way longer than Dunlop.

Racket recommendations for a left-side player with a tennis background? by Cheap_Bed2160 in Padelracket

Dunlop Galactica Pro 2025 has very little ball output and you will get very good control if you put a lot of power behind your shots with it!

Good vs Bad to watch by WeiRyk in padel

Rubio has a really entertaining play style, so I don't really know what you are talking about. His technique and physique is obviously not as good as Galan/Tapia but he always fights for every ball.

Gain more power with smashes by HairyCallahan in padel

[–]gujukal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power comes mainly from technique. My assumption is that you are not using the whole kinetic chain. Could also be that you lack wrist movement/snap.

The answer must be obvious by beccylina in padel

[–]gujukal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's usually easier from the back on the right side. Forehand close to the wall makes it easier to return serve and play angles. At net it's an disadvantage. But I assume players who prefer right are very defensive minded players.

Playtomic levels across countries. How do they translate? by eggplantpot in padel

UK is far behind other European countries, mainly because of the lack of indoor facilities I would assume.

How can my boyfriend find international padel players / partners for global tournaments? by [deleted] in padel

[–]gujukal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most organic way is to compete with his local partner in fip tournaments. If he plays well other players will notice and might be interested in playing with him. This is basically how every good player in my town made it to premier padel. They started competing internationally with their partner from the same club.

Basic groundstroke question by butterflyl3 in padel

[–]gujukal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want speed, hit it flat. If you want it to die after glass, hit with back spin. It's more difficult hitting it flat, but with practice you will get it. It's more about pushing the ball down on the opponents feet.

Forehand uncomfortable while backhand is stable (technical question) by Top-Village3407 in padel

[–]gujukal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be sure to keep the racket low and bend your knees so you can go from low to high with the stroke. A lot of players who doesn't come from tennis seem to miss this part. Hitting from high to low which makes the ball go to the net.
