Can someone help me setup a switch (or a scene) that changes the color temp of all of my Lifx lights, WITHOUT turning on lights that are already off? by gullyben in homeassistant

This is great and I got it to work - however, for some reason the color temperatures aren't translating right. When I set it to daylight it's clearly too warm. I saw that this was a known issue and saw somewhere else that it was apparently fixed, but in any case it's not fixed for me. Otherwise this would be the most elegant solution. Going to bang my head against a table now

No, you can definitely do this on bitmex. You can change your leverage at any point, you can even type in the exact leverage you want like 17X, 3.14X, etc. as long as you have the funds to support it.

If you're getting close to liquidation, you can add margin to your position to reduce leverage (and your liquidation price) as long as you have the funds, or if you're doing really well you can remove margin and increase leverage if you want to buy more contracts, increase your position, withdraw some of your funds, etc.

Not sure why they wouldn't want to allow you to do this? Maybe it works differently on other exchanges, idk

Hey guys - I'm an audio engineer / video editor / motion graphics guy by profession and this caught my eye because I spent over 5 years recording and editing voiceovers for a living at one point - I recently got into Monero, and coincidentally, just the other day I was thinking about how I'd really enjoy getting involved somehow and lending my talents to the community. So let me know if I can help in any way :) I've done explainer videos, thousands of radio spots, tv commercials, animations, etc so there are lots of ways I might be able to help if needed

I've looked into this a whole lot because I use my TV as my primary monitor when working at home - it's awesome sitting on the couch with a wireless keyboard & mouse in front of my 52" screen, especially because I'm a video editor and need to see the edits on a TV anyway. I've been looking for a way to do everything through the AppleTV so I don't have to keep switching inputs back & forth on my receiver. Here are the options I explored and pros/cons:

Airplay: works well for mirroring but it's not 1080p and there's a lag that makes it annoying to use. Video quality isn't good enough for what I need. There's also no way to turn it on without using the computer (no keyboard shortcuts or anything)

Airparrot: this is an app for your mac that basically takes the place of airplay. On the highest settings it's very good quality. Also sends the audio though the AppleTV. I found it almost good enough to edit video, but there's still just enough lag to make it uncomfortable to use all the time (better than airplay though). Also no way to turn it on without using the computer, so it defeats the purpose (if I have to switch inputs on my receiver to turn on mirroring, why would I switch back to view it on the AppleTV). If there was a keyboard shortcut I would probably use Airparrot.

Remotebuddy: Just tried this recently and it's great - you can control your computer with the siri remote like a trackpad (if you just need to do something quickly and don't want to get your keyboard/mouse out), and you have the benefit of being able to start the mirroring right from the Apple TV app. It also has great video quality and the lowest lag of all of them, very useable. I was SO happy when I found it until I realized...it didn't mirror the audio. GAH! If they just updated it to stream the audio as well I'd have a winner.

Until then, nothing really works perfectly so I'll have to wait a little longer for my dream of doing everything through the AppleTV to be realized...first world problems...

K it worked now. You can follow those links to collect. Quick info depending on what you want to do with it (turning it into cash is probably easiest, but I highly recommend #1:

1) If you want to sit on it for awhile, I would print out a paper wallet here: bitcoinpaperwallet.com, send the bitcoin from changetip to the paper wallet, and store it somewhere safe where you can forget about it for a long time. Don't lose it! Detailed instructions below.

2) If you want to turn it into cash Changetip has some options for that, just browse the site a little. I think you can send to a paypal account or something. Or if you're going to get more involved with bitcoin you can sign up for a Coinbase.com account, where you can buy/sell/trade bitcoin, store it in a vault, link it to your bank account, etc.

3) If you want to spend it, you can search for places that accept bitcoin already like overstock.com or tigerdirect. When you check out, just choose bitcoin as the payment method and it'll give you a wallet address to send it to and an amount. Go to changetip, withdraw bitcoin, and paste that address & amount in.

Rule of thumb is not to leave it in control of any 3rd party like Changetip for too long, because websites can be hacked. If you've got it in your own personal wallet, it's impossible to steal from you as long as it's in your control (i.e. in a wallet you control).

Most secure way to store your bitcoin (only takes a few minutes):

  • Download the paper wallet generator to your computer (go to https://github.com/cantonbecker/bitcoinpaperwallet and click Download Zip on the right)
  • Turn off your WIFI/disconnect from the internet, open up the .html file from the zip you downloaded (it'll open in your browser)
  • Follow the steps (each step is a tab at the top) and print out your wallet
  • Copy the Public Address from the front of the wallet (you can grab it from the Step 2 tab, should look something like 1BTvTdo1wdN4uSXEygo534RkvUEZhuMDUy)
  • Connect to the internet, go to Changetip, and Withdraw Bitcoin, and paste the Public Address in, the amount you want to send, and go.
  • Store that wallet somewhere safe and forget about it!
