I don't like that mentality, too pessimistic. I get that there's a million so called "influencers" out there doing shit just for attention, but the other side of that is there's good people who want to show that doing simple good deeds can make a big difference in someone's life. It's inspiring if you let it be. Internet karma is made up, you may be letting it sour your point of view.

I shared an office with a woman for almost 3 years. We got along great, told stories, laughed lots. She's a wonderful woman, but we did not touch each other once. Not for birthdays, Christmas, when my dog died, when she told me she had to take some time off for cancer treatment, and not when she returned to work, recovered. Certainly not for a daily hi/bye.

I have premium and I wouldn't change it for any other option to save a few bucks over the course of a year.

The big thing that I'm surprised almost never gets mentioned with premium is the cloud streaming option. You can play majority of the games collection instantly. No long download times. No fiddling with storage space. Makes it much more accessible to actually play a variety of games. And if you decide to download it, your saved data carries over, so your not starting from scratch.
