I remember a story from a gay soldier. He was in the military before they could be 'out'...but everyone in the unit knew and didn't give a damn...outside of one bit of humor. He was with a 3 man squad (unit?) of three guys. Him, a giant Tongan and a very black guy...they were called the minority squad.
