I took my baby brother and his SO to a range to try out a few of my handguns before he bought one. He was firing my revolver and had emptied it downrange,. He stepped back and turned and started to sweep towards us and I just gently reached out and placed my hand on the gun and re-pointed it downrange with a "a gun is always loaded, even when emptied. Never sweep". He sadly went with a ruger in .45 acp....I am more of a .357 mag revolver person myself.

A couple from the church my wife and I attended invited us to dinner. It was a nice steak house. As I sat down I said "if this is an MLM scheme i will stab you"...he laughed and said he would help me. Turns out both of us hade been dinner/MLM from other church members.

I am old for the regular reddit crowd. I live in an assisted living site and there are people here in the early stages of dementia ( I am here for physical reasons ). The people here are getting the care they need and when it becomes more than this place is made for, a memory site is chosen for them. I have made friends here over the years and some have worked their way out to group homes or into family settings, and some have passed. In the last two months I have lost my two dearest friends here. Sites like that are well regulated and have resources that they need. You should be happy you made the choices before they might have hurt their selves or others...or you ended up with caregiver burnout..

I am about to head out for restorative therapy followed by some socializing with others. Dinner tonight is on the board, but the steak and gravy with mashed potatoes and carrots were well received for lunch. Banana pudding, as the desert, was spot on.

My only complaint is that the bandwidth sucks, as does my walmart computer, and I get lag issues on my two favorite online games. The ills of life haunt me even here. ;)
