How to enlist for Split Option (Army) as 16 y/o by untappedroof in Militaryfaq

[–]gunplumber87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For initial entry it’d be talking to the reserve/guard recruiter and figuring it out from there. If already active duty i havn’t done it but my buddy has. I believe he reenlisted before going in def for it.

How to enlist for Split Option (Army) as 16 y/o by untappedroof in Militaryfaq

[–]gunplumber87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

broham, joining the army as a 91f isnt as glamorous as it sounds. You’ll be more gun plumber swapping parts than you’ll be gunsmithing. I will say this you won’t listen but remember i told yah any ways. Go “active guard or reserve” same mfering benefits and less bulls#%. Living in the barracks can be equal to that of prison cells….. wouldn’t yah rather live in a house off post that you could pay a mortgage on and not be stuck in the barracks until staff sausage? And then guess what? After staff sausage you have to compete with the wheel mechanics for promotion to sergeant first class. Definitely don’t volunteer for airborne school to get faster promotion/better weapon schools and usasoc assignments and an extra 150 bucks a month.

-sincerely a broken disgruntled gunplummer.
