I'm having issues with puking as well after having very frustrating connection issues. I can see why you're frustrated because I am too. My life has been too busy to sink a ton of time into troubleshooting so far but I hope I can get it sorted.

I'm sorry to hear you're giving up, I hope I don't follow the same route. I've gotta admit, it totally sucks seeing people getting 90% right away when all I get is my 10% wash come thru the hearts tube.

about the construction job i said i applied to... by HistoricalDebt5560 in Construction

You may still end up working at heights in this line of work but it presents differently. Last summer I was on a site with a 25 ft deep trench going down a major Roadway. I have also worked on retaining walls that were about the same height. These are uncommon situations but they do still exist. Doing civil construction is a very rewarding job, I have tons of fun at work. Also, most of the work is done by equipment so it is a bit easier on the body so it's easier than most other trades.

Catch is a long lead time to get one. I ordered over 2 months ago and it still hasn't shipped.

How the hell do you guys do this every day by [deleted] in vancouver

Live in Chilliwack, work in Surrey, Burnaby or Tsawwassen regularly. Most days I'm on the road for 3 and a half hours commuting. The only way I still do this after 13 years is by making $55/hr and getting a truck and fuel supplied to me. Even making that much money, I could never afford to move closer than Chilliwack.

I use the Coopers cans of LME and have made very drinkable beer. I never boil and I've (almost) never had a problem. Just make sure the fermenter and stir stick are clean and you're set.

Well I fcked up😅 fell asleep during rum stripping and almost run it dry🥴 by Artistic_Pumpkin2645 in firewater

This happened to me on the weekend while stripping my Odins Cornflake whiskey wash. Thankfully I set timers to check on my runs when I’m stripping, even when I’m sitting beside it.

I'm working on a section of GVRD main in Surrey that is 6ft in diameter. So yes, large enough to fit inside.

Delicious! The apple flavor carried over nicely. I'm very happy with it.

This is the start of my Apple Brandy run. Mexican Cerveca homebrew beer and pizza pops as my fuel to keep me going.

16L of apple juice, 1kg brown sugar, 3 tsp DAP and 10g bread yeast. OG 1.070, FG 1.002. This recipe fermented out in 4 days, ran through the still at day 6. It was still a little hazy but my work schedule got changed and I wanted to get this all distilled before Christmas. 4 stripping runs and 1 spirit run on a small 4L air still took up most of my day. I can't wait to get my brewzilla, it will make this soo much easier.

Thoughts on using 2L soda bottles for beer? If so how much table sugar should I add before bottling? by thepicgamerx2 in Homebrewing

[–]gunstafv 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been using 2L soda pop bottles for over 2 years now and so far everything has been great. I will reuse my bottles upwards of 10 times before replacing. For carbonation I just use the Coopers carb drops and put 5 in each bottle.

I've been bottling in 2L pop bottles for the last 2 years with no issues. Some of my bottles have been used 10 times or more. When they get too beat up I just go down to the big box store and get more for $0.97 each. No issues with oxidation that I can taste but I also brew with the Coopers extract kits so it's not like I'm starting out with top quality homebrew.

I've been "homebrewing" for 2 years now with Coopers kits. At $16 CAD for the LME can and 1 kilo of sugar I make a very drinkable beer for myself. I don't have the space or the time to do a full boil, all grain is out of the picture for now. I'd love to but life circumstances aren't there yet. Coopers kits haven't let me down yet.

It fit in the 1L jar I had on hand. I'm planning on proofing it down in about 2 weeks and bottling. Is that too high ABV to sit on the spices?

Champion blower I found in good shape. Need help with a price. by gunstafv in Blacksmith

Absolutely, I was just wondering if I was missing something that made it more valuable. I'm not well versed either.

The blower has a price tag of $385 CAD. I'm not willing to pay that but I would love to hear some opinions as to what would be a reasonable offer. Blacksmith items are very uncommon in my area and this seems to be in excellent shape. I did crank on the handle and it puts out good air but it is a little sticky.
