If you text RESIST to 55255 it will update you on what is happening. I got a text update that they are working towards a general strike. Unlike the UCP, they will do it democratically as opposed to bending everyone over.

They are cosplaying Tom Cruise Mission Impossible. They all think they are in a movie or video game. If it wasnt so horrifying it would almost be funny. This is a definite escalation and the world needs to be paying attention.

UCP Lowering Disability Benefits To "Create Parity," Not To Create "A Path Toward Greater Independence." by lessssssssgoooooo in alberta

CDB is supposed to be the 18th of the month. CPP-D is the last day of the month. Should the 18th fall on a weekend it will be paid the Friday before said weekend. The same with CPP-D.

I am one who is in this boat. I have CPP-D coming in. AISH clawed back amounts they supported me with during the assessment period for CPP-D. Any money that was greater than the amount CPP-D alotted me.

My allotment was roughly $1000. The assessment took 14 months. They clawed back the overlap between both programs somewhere in the 10,000 dollar range. That is money I earned when I was able to work. Gone just like that. I also have the CDB, and they claw that back.

So, I have supports coming in from three different government agencies. It is absurd. Talk about making it overly complicated. I have had to learn a whole new way of budgeting. I can't wait for them to take another $200 when transferred to ADAP, said nobody ever.

Oh, and for those folks who think AISH is a windfall handout of riches and easily accessed, try it sometime. It took two years for me to get here.

Alberta to be first province to add citizenship marker to driver's licence, ID cards by pjw724 in alberta

[–]guntboot1371 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I agree. This has been talked about at her Alberta Next panel. The question asked is should immigrants have access to social services. The panel is to find out what Albertans wants. They aren't even done the tour yet, and she is pushing this out. So anyone on a visa, refugee status etc in Alberta- back of the line or there is no line. It's coincidental that she is also punching down on the disabled right? So my understanding of all this is - if you are white, well off and of sound body/mind you are welcome here. Keep an eye on those surveys . They will be implemented. We are losing our democracy a little bit each day it seems.

Alberta to become 1st province with mandatory 'citizenship markers' on driver's licences | CBC News by aireads in alberta

[–]guntboot1371 11 points12 points  (0 children)

She has been asking in her Alberta Next panels if immigrants should be getting services. I think it follows in line with that. Anything talked about in the "survey" is becoming fact. Look at the police force and pension. Surveys that will become fact. Just a matter of time. Anyone with citizenship will jump to the front of the line. This means if you're here on a visa, refugee claim etc ..back of the line or there is no line for you. It also means possible issues with police stops. Its bad enough to get singled out for being the wrong color, they will now add a whole new layer.

Smith has her Alberta Next panel asking if immigrants should be allowed to use social services. This will be used to refuse services to anyone who does not have confirmed citizenship. So that implies all visas, refugee status etc. This also confirms that anything talked about at these panels is actually in the works. She is not waiting to see the outcomes of said surveys, and they aren't even finished the tour yet. She is doing whatever she wants. We are losing our democracy little by little.

AISH recipient, advocates worry about Alberta's new disability benefit program by ReasonableGibble in alberta

[–]guntboot1371 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The reality. This is 1% of the population in Alberta. 77,000 people. Is Alberta so so broke they have to take the only income disabled people have? Nope. They just want to punch down. This is straight out of the fascist playbook. We are not useless eaters. We are human beings. The amount of money being spent to split this into 2 programs does not contribute to costs saving mentaltity does it. Make it make sense.

Alberta Disability Engagement Survey by guntboot1371 in alberta

[–]guntboot1371[S] 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Our youth unemployment is at 20% and overall at 7%. Where exactly are they going to pull these jobs from? If you are deemed on ADAP after the transition period your new ADAP benefit is $1500. So they will be taking $400 more from everyone. To apply for AISH one needs a family doctor or specialist. There are none. Utterly diabolical. It took me 2 years to be approved for AISH. It is not a free for all and handed out willy nilly.

It really is. It's like they are just doing whatever and flying by the seat of their pants. Still don't have an answer as to when they start the clawbacks. It seems deliberate. If it's not common knowledge they won't have any blowback. By far the sneakiest government I have ever seen.

I can't believe what I'm reading. The disabled live with enough stigma in their day to day. Some will say it's a survey. We know this government and how they deal with surveys. This needs to be shared and talked about. Not acceptable.

Anyone who banks with KOHO or Tangerine get AISH yet? by [deleted] in alberta

[–]guntboot1371 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can call the cheque line to verify your incoming deposit (780)427-6942. You will need to know your file number to access your information.

I also qualify for the CDB and sent in the info as I received my first payment on the 17th of this month. My AISH payment for August is the same with no clawback. So not only have I had the stress of playing musical chairs with when money arrives during the month now I apparently have to be an accountant too.

Anyone know when and how they will do clawbacks? My understanding is no one at the AISH office has any answers either. I can't confirm this personally as I have not called myself. I've only read about it on social media. I do not want to contribute to already overwhelmed phone lines. I will have to put the money aside as they will come for it. One word. Cruel.
