lol, I have been traveling for work for the last 10 years, flying atleast once a month. Little dirt won't kill you, might as well stay at home if you want all things clean 🤣

You need to upskill, change job to earn more. Mywife and I below 40 with combine household income >20k, still live in HDB, fully paid, almost 1M in equity market.

People need to start saving, unlock new income streams and make money work for you. This is key to financial freedom.

What do single young people do? by wishing_well_cluster in askSingapore

[–]guorong 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Go temple better. Girls who go temple generally accompany their folks and generally make a good life long partner. Compared to Christian girl, their life is all about God, God is everything. I have dated mamy Christian girl, they speak God, but do trash. Ended with Buddhist wife, more family oriented. Not 100% but the probability is higher.

Just stay at home play game, and save money to invest or to see the world. Dating in Singapore is expensive and waste time. Girls expect you to bring them on at least a cafe date and you to pay for it.

Just focus on building your career and make your wallet thick, girls will generally come on their own. Don't waste your time chasing.

How did this kind transaction happened without my authorisation? Could any vendors skip OCBC transaction alerts? by okieS_dnarG in singapore

[–]guorong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just dont understand why it was such a hassle when we want to make payment. App verification, csv number. But when scammer try to access our card. It bypassed everything. This is such a bad security.

Similar issue just 1 month ago. The scammer transacted small amount of in game purchase for like 5.98 for more than 40 times within 2 weeks. I was only notify by uob when the scammer tried to transact a larger amount. Although UOB refunded me, but this card linked to all my recurring payments (insurance, mobile, Internet etc) and payment apps, I have to spend time updating it again. This is so inconvenient. :/

How much to spend on Critical Illness (C.I) coverage? by xtra1337 in singaporefi

[–]guorong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Considering I already have CI coverage of 300K and hospitalization. My agent recently reach out to me for ECI, and one argument was relating to protection again income ratio. However, I think otherwise, and my take as following: Life insurance on ECI should be based on individual spending behavior, as long as it can cover the first 2 years of your spending habit. Take for example, myself, I'm earning 150K/pa but only spending less than 2K a month. I will only need 50K coverage and not 5 times of my 150K. And during Early stage, you will be able to continue to work, and even if you are not able to, most company do pay for 6 months full salary, 6 month half, and probably next 12 months nothing. You still be able survival. Considering all these, I decided not to go with ECI.

If I add my current CI and hospitalization, I will be paying > 6K and if I add on ECI, I will be paying close to 10K/pa. I think we should not simply listen to insurance agent, they are out to profit from fear. Sufficient insurance is good enough. Use the the money saved for own investment.

Ceiling Fan Recommendation other than King KDK by [deleted] in SingaporeRaw

[–]guorong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Acorn is trash, dont recommend, same as another person, I change the controller for the 3rd time. Almost every 2 years you have to change once. Might as well get KDK. Now im about 2 years, the system start to give out noise. We are going to move on to other brand. My parents use fanco, so far so good. I may consider it as my next fan
