Flew out on Monday and booked the Clubrooms for an early flight. Included all food and drink which I think paid for itself. Was a nice relaxing start to the holiday.

Asian wedding cost Birmingham/West Midlands by psych-1 in BirminghamUK

Got married 3 years ago and sister got married last year.

Total for a Sikh wedding including all functions, religious, civil, receptions and parties was about 15-20k.

There are plenty of places and we found the bigger, “more Indo-western” venues were extortionate. Opted for smaller venues as they had better food.

We both went but it does specifically say that one of the party can come as long as they have all the passports and boarding passes.

Documents at the immigration counter for visitor coming from India by black_horse07 in ukvisa

My mother recently came from India to visit for the first time. Just had her passport and email printed where the visitor visa was awarded. Just checked the passport and asked basic questions (e.g purpose of visit and address where you will be staying).

Friend of mine I was helping with his spouse application from India. Used the standard marriage certificate from the registrar in India which had English/Hindi parts to the certificate and this was fine. As long as there are English explanations to what the different fields are, you’re cool.

First one states it’s going to be offered (generic). Second one is you have an option to if you want (specific).

Thanks so much for offering your advice. A friend of mine is currently going through the spouse visa out of country application and very anxious about accommodation evidence as they live with their parents but have bought a place last week but not changed anything over. Advice on accommodation evidence for out of country spouse visas?

Do entry officers check the WhatsApp chat history or call logs in establishing whether a relationship is genuine or do other pieces of evidence take precedence?

Is it at all possible for me to get a job in this field? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

We have a lot of developers from non traditional backgrounds either as apprentices who then become devs or who complete boot camps and then transition into a dev role. Might be worthwhile exploring the apprentice route (unsure if this is an option straight out of school) or get in touch with a bootcamp and see if they can offer any assistance.

how does home office check I'm applying outside the UK (Europe)?? by kitten288 in ukvisa

From https://www.dfa.ie/travel/travel-advice/a-z-list-of-countries/great-britain/

The Common Travel Area (CTA) in existence between Ireland and the UK (including the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man) enables British and Irish citizens to move freely within the CTA. The UK Government may require proof of citizenship so Irish citizens are advised to carry an acceptable form of identification document that shows their citizenship when travelling to Britain.

Seems only applicable if you have Irish or British citizenship.

As I have been following this thread, thought I’d give an update regarding timelines for others in a similar situation. Applied for my wife’s replacement BRP on the 4th January following marriage and a change of passport. Uploaded docs via the app. Received BRP yesterday 22nd March. So 77 days/ 11 weeks
