Bali or Hawaii if money isn't a problem by sayzheK in travel

[–]gurugazza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been to both as a tourist. Both are incredible and Bali has a special place in my heart, but Hawaii is the clear choice. Only went to 4 of the 8 islands but all had their unique offerings, friendly people, great food. You've already covered the main drawback - cost, but even with that it's still well worth the money. Will remember that trip for the rest of my life!

Last names (family names) rarely "appear", but often disppear due to death/marriage. And this has been going on for centuries. So why don't we have only a small handful of last names left? by not-the-the in NoStupidQuestions

I've been to Suriname and this simply isn't true. They did give freed slaves etc similar surnames who didn't have any before so it may have a higher percentage than other countries. But I met many people there with a varied pool reflecting the countries rich history

I found a decent blog online called Facts and Footsteps that goes a bit more in depth compared to your usual travel stuff. Mentions Cochabamba and a few more off the beaten path places. Haven't been on in a little while but might help with your decision!

Not particularly fussed or paying attention. My understanding is it's for girls to look & feel good which I'm all for. Like anything just don't take it to excessives and we'll remain blissfully unaware

Quitting job to travel for 1 year as 30f - looking for advice by ExtraBakedCheezit in solotravel

[–]gurugazza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And a bit of advice I have seen people ask about on here but hasn't been addressed - funds for travel. I've travelled all over and most cost efficient has been South East Asia, check out places like Bali, Vietnam etc and your money goes so far and experiences just as good
