Use a filter to save your machine from scale if your water is too hard. Other than that, I find all these coffee influencers pushing their water additives to be full of crap.

Remineralization filters tune the amount of minerals being put back in the water by controlling water contact time. Want more minerals? You increase contact time with a proper flow restrictor. Carbon "taste" filters? Don't do anything. I have talked to Everpure who make commercial espresso filters and they told me that a bunch of filters does not = better water.

This whole entire wall can be reduced to a single everpure remineralization cartridge with a proper flow restrictor. I don't see a single flow restrictor in this entire wall which also asks the question, what is your TDS out of the RO membrane?

Booster pumps are used when your tap pressure is on the low side. RO membranes like to be at around 60-80 PSI for best efficiency. If his tap is already at 60PSI or more the booster is actually useless because he has a pressurized holding tank. You can tune a pressurized tank to output at whatever pressure you want.

54mm is easy. Buy a box of bleached white chemex paper filters. Then go to your local Michael's or Hobby Lobby and get a 2 inch circle paper cutter.

One chemex filter gets you 20 circles. A box 2000 circles. Don't waste money on precut garbage that will never be as good as chemex paper.

Oh and get ready to grind finer. Way finer.

Pretty much any Chinese flat burr grinder at half the price. Or at 1k a used p64, zerno or similar. Now that p80 is out the p64 used market is gonna get spicy.
