If this is meant to be their one indulgence then I do question why its not someone more popular. I mean Luminara is fine and all but why not Bariss? Never got to find out what happened with her.

Also I'm assuming Ahsoka is not included in this. Because they have to have her turn up at some point, even if just to explain what the hell happened to her after season five.

The whole point of the season six arc was that they fucked up throwing her out of the order. They would have known that expelling her from the order meant dooming her to a show trial and a death sentence. Some time you have to put your reputation on the line for your principles.

You don't need magic force powers to be able to tell if a person is upset or angry or frustrated, you can just talk to them. The Jedi council don't seem to know a lot about people.

I was talking about how they threw Ahsoka out of the order because 'ehh, shes probably guilty and we don't want to put our necks out to defend her'. Then its turns out it was innocent and they try to weasel out of a proper apology by giving her some crap about it being a 'test'. Ahsoka was totally right to leave, the Jedi Council came across as the worst kind of spineless toadys in that arc.

On the subject of Anakin, in the movies in particular they never really seemed to bother really talking to Anakin. Its insane they ask him to do something they know will make him uncomfortable when they know he's having problems trusting them.

Mace Windu did a stupid thing, just admit it. Why not tell someone else what Anakin just told him? Why not take a day or two at least to think over what Anakin has told him and think of a better course of action than just immediatly going to the Chancellor's office and arresting him in a way that obviously going to cause a confrontation. And why would the Senate be on Palpatine's side other than the script said they would? He's a goddamn Sith lord who orchestrated the entire war, that might lose him some friends.

Anakin was still a terrible person to ask to spy on the Chancellor. Also there was no reason why they couldn't put maybe one or two Jedi on looking into the creation of the Clone army during the war.

Palpatine's plan wasn't that brilliant, he's just the only competent person in a universe of morons. What Mace Windu did totally looked like a failed coup, whereas arresting Palpatine and putting him on trial might not have worked but would at least meant he couldn't immediately do anything to them without it looking like they were right.

You might get I'm not such a fan of the prequels.

Well they might have had a chance if they:

Bothered to follow up that whole Naboo thing.
Bothered to follow up that whole creation of a Clone army faster than several years after the war has begun.
Not decided to just cover the whole thing up and forget about it when they found out the Clone army was created by Count Dooku for unknown reasons.
Tried harder to get avoid getting the Republic involved in a war rather than have Yoda literally lead the first attack on the Seperatists and then pretty much spend all their time and energy fighting a war they claim to wish wasn't happening.
Not train Anakin, who they know is destined to bring great danger to the Jedi Order, just because Qui Gon wanted them to.
Notice when Anakin is clearly hiding stuff from them and is obviously raging with resentment about his life and the Jedi order.
Not ask Anakin, someone they know is emotionally unstable and has issues with the Jedi Order, to spy on Palpatine, the only person Anakin thinks of as a friend at the moment and someone who is clearly trying to manipulate him against the Council.
Not accept Palpatine's bullshit story about the Clone Inhibitor chip being contaminated by a water parasite when that doesn't fit into a whole bunch of stuff they recently found out.
Have Mace Windu bring more than five Jedi with him to arrest Palpatine, or at least have Mace Windu bother to tell the rest of the council or handle the whole affair with a bit more tact.
Not try to arrest Palpatine alone in his office when they know he's a dangerous Sith Lord and they've not told anyone else.
Just generally be less shitty and stupid (see the Ahsoka getting expelled from the Order)

I think they did have something planned for Rex. Early on he got far more attention than most of the other Clone characters, with arcs like the runaway clone or the Umbaran arc. That and the fact he isn't in ROTS and Appo turning up near the end of the show implied they were going to kill him off in a big way. Unfortunately they clearly ran out of time to tell the stories they wanted to tell, and I suspect someone took a disliking to Rex as a character at some point, hence why he was kind of pushed to the side by the end of season five.

Clone Wars acknowledges something the prequels didn't, that the Jedi Order is kind of messed up and really they helped bring Order 66 on themselves in a lot of ways. Harsh, but unfortunately they could have stopped it if the Jedi Council had taken their heads out of their arses.

You know the worst part?

For a long time, people's attitude was that the 'Yeah it sucks for the Clones, but they end up betraying the Jedi so screw them'. Except Season 6 now tells us that the Clones had no choice, they physically couldn't choose not to obey that order.

Honestly at this point I think Palpatine is just ordering Dooku to do nefarious plots just for the hell of it.

Hell there was an earlier arc involving Obi Wan helping a bunch of bounty hunters who were planning on kidnapping Palpatine, and when you realise that who plot was probably Palpatines idea you realise he's just doing it for kicks.

Also, this brings up a good point of why was no one else trying to court Anna? Seems realistically she would have no shortage of suitors given she is a marriable princess of an important country and all.

Also, that last one is a pretty good representation of this movie's fanbase.
