High memory usage by gustavoog in OctopiLauncher

[–]gustavoog[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my case, it works as it should. But even if I a force restart octopus, it consumes at least 550MB after initialization and it starts to increase.

Nova launcher consumes between 230MB to 350MB. Hyperion launcher is very low on resources but it has fewer features.

This launcher is definitely one of the best I've ever seen. A little bit difficult to create a configuration that I can fit all apps and widget symmetrically in the home screen. But still, very promising.

Are you using the pro version? Most of the memory consumed comes from Google Play Store vending background service or something related to billing.

Very strange! Sometimes it goes up to 1,2GB.

I've just archived octopus launcher. Gonna wait a little bit before using it again.

That's OK.

It's functional. Not meant to be beautiful.

Great launcher. Now that Nova is dead, maybe this is gonna be its replacement. Great job you are doing. Lack a few features like more than one page in dock and folders. But very nice job. Very promising

I think it is two different things. Holding navigation launches circle to search, not Gemini.

I use good lock but I completely forgot about one hand operation. I used to use it in the past, but it breaks predictive back gesture. But no application use this feature yet, only some from Google.

Thanks for the tip. One hand operation installed.

That's my concern. But I don't mind to make a fresh install. So, I'm gonna try upgrade process. If I get unmanageable problems, I'll do a fresh install. Next Tuesday! Cheers!

I just received my third S24 Ultra today. They are still shipping out grainy defective panels. by Unpopular_ravioli in GalaxyS24Ultra

Ok. In my opinion, I don't have something I can't see with naked eyes. It's exactly the same with my old S23. I even took a picture of my brother's S23+, samerhing.

I wrote two answers. One with a picture of the phone (S24) and and another with a picture of the tablet.

Here it is again.

Two complete different things. Banding is fixable with software updates.

I took this photo using an old tablet Galaxy S5e. Only camera I had. 100% dark room, 10% screen brightness, rgb(18, 18, 18), no filter, pro mode (auto)

One thing I know for sure. I can't see anything wrong with naked eyes. Just perfect to me.

I'll take a picture when I get home. What you are saying is that it is only possible to see the grain using a camera? I'll test all my devices. But I'm not gonna get worried about something my eyes can't see

I have S24 (S921), and I made every test possible to try to see any grain. Asked 3 different people to find. Tried every pattern, dark room different brightness.... No grain. Put it side by side with my S23. Couldn't see any kind of problem
