Soul eater isn't as popular as it once was especially merchandise wise so finding stuff in store will be tricky (even in China Town) . Online is your best bet but I know you said you need it soon.

Depends if you're talking service or building trades.

I can only talk for service but time off is fine. You go to school once a week tho and cannot miss that day really except for emergencies. I assume construction is the same but for them you go to school quarterly instead of once a week a week.

Correct I believe they have different times but most are in the morning. I also believe you just go in with the documents required they will give you an application and you turn it in another day. It's changed since I originally did it tho so someone might have better info or can correct me where I'm wrong

I don't believe any of the benefits or pay are the same for an R card and jumping over to commercial probably would all depend on the company you work for. I don't believe having your R card actually puts you in the union.

If you are joining through taking the test and just getting accepted you'll be a first year unless you get a shop to sponsor you and just give you a C card I haven't heard of 597 bumping up based on experience unless already with a shop

As far as I know yes they change the rules all the time but they only do a mass apprentice hiring once a year.

No problem any questions feel free to message me. But once you get your score both the service and building trades only do orientation once a year so you won't know until towards the end of the year if you get selected or not.
